I didn't like the venue when I first saw it empty before the meet and greet. It was a great contrast to Palau de la Música, two years ago. Therefore my fisrt question to Joe was to ask his opinion about the place. It's evident he didn't like it very much. To my surprise, Mike Bridgen told me that full of people, it was going to be very warm, and I should expect a great show.
I said on T2J board the M&G experience was great, and Joe was inmense. And the M&G provided the oportunity to attend the show from the first row, therefore there I stood in front of Joe's pedals where I took the pictures I've sent to Jon "webmaster"..
"Sold out" advices at the entrance, and people on the outside desperately asking for black market tickets. I'm sure a second show, like in Paris, would have been a nice bussines for the promoter..
No surprises on the setlist, cause Joe has kept it quite steady thoughout the european leg.. I missed "Surfing" and "wormhole wizards", but as "The Stones" said, "You can't always get what you want"..
Joe's playing has reached an incredible level of professionalism, perfection and maturity that hardly can be matched. The combination of classic standards (AWMAWY, Satch Boogie, Potato head, Summer song..) with jewells like (Hordes of Locust, War, Why...) and tracks of his wonderful new album (Light Years, P. Victoria, Premonition, Dream song, Wind in the trees...) curdled to a kind of love potion that bewitched all the audience. The truth is that who sows love, love harvests. We love you, Joe.
