The entire show was great. Davey Knowles and his band were a surprise hit. For not knowing any of their tunes, I found them to be an exceptional band. The crowd felt the same way and gave them a standing ovation at the end of their set. Chickenfoot put on an outstanding show. Their sound and showmanship was second to none. Sammy led the way and Chad was quite funny with his comments behind the drums. Mike's backup vocal were great and of course Joe rocked. They are all at the top of their game. My only disappointment was that Joe seemed isolated on the left side of the stage. While Sammy, Mike, and Chad seemed to be having a genuinely good time, Joe was kind of off on his own. While the three were laughing and improvising, you could sense a real friendship between them. Joe on the other hand rarely smiled or even looked at the others. This was unexpected. I've personnaly seen Joe in concert on three other occasions--as a solo artist. Although he had his hands full with his rythme, chorus, and lead parts, he still seemed in tune with the crowd. But with Chickenfoot--with less parts to play--he didn't seem to be in synch with the audience or the rest of the band. Even when Mike and Sam came over to play or sing over his shoulder, Joe seemed unresponsive. Maybe Joe just had a bad night. I don't know.
