Joe, John, and Paul were all amazing. I had not heard of Paul Gilbert before I heard that he was touring with Satch for G3. I had heard a little bit of Petrucci's solo stuff and some of the stuff that he does in Dream Theater. Gilbert really surprised me and I now have Get Out Of My Yard. Petrucci was just so fast, I could not believe it. Satriani was amazing, this was my first time seeing him and I want to see him now every time he comes to the philly area. Starting the jam at the end of Always with Me, Always with You was really sweet too. I liked when Petrucci did the lick from Super Colossal when they were jamming, that was cool to see the guys getting into each others music. When Gilbert pulled out the drill and started playing I couldn't see what was happening, by then everyone was standing in the front right at the stage, but it was cool to hear. Then after they finished when that guy got on stage and was bowing to them, that guy was sitting next to me at the show and he probably saw the same thing I did. I noticed that the guy doing security on our end of the stage was texting between sets and I thought that it would have been easy to get past him. I wonder what happened to that guy.

I have seen Joe many times, but this was a jaw dropping show. I must admit that I am also a huge Paul Gilbert fan since the first Racer X record came out. I also really love Dream Theater. When I heard this line up I was totally psyched. Paul opened the show and after two songs I had gotten my moneys worth. I was grinning ear to ear and couldn't stop. He is just incredible and odd and his music is extremely technical, but brings that old 70's rock kind of vibe at the same time. Bruce Boulet played along side of Paul and that was just an extra bonus to see them jamming together on 32nd note harmony solos!

John Petrucci was up next and while he is not a great showman, his playing speaks for itself. Portnoy was on the drums and gave plenty of show all by himself. Dave Larue played bass for Petrucci as well as Satriani and totally blew me away. I really had no idea how good he was until he layed a few solos down. WOW.

Satriani came out and the crowd went nuts. He played a great set. Cool #9 was beautiful and they played a few from Surfing With the Alien. He was joined by John and then Paul and they played some great Hendrix tunes and ended with Jumpin Jack Flash! The solos were incredible and you could tell they could have played all night if they were allowed. I absolutely loved this show and believe that it was one of the best, if not the best show I have ever seen.

Wow!!!! what an amazing show. paul gilbert started out strong with get out of my yard and some racer X stuff. i loved the down to mexico finish. His interaction with the audience and stage presence was awesome. i loved the drill at the end of the G3 jam. Petrucci's set was great but portnoy stole the show with this stick flips and water spewage. though i liked JP's off stage entrance. nice see through drum set mike. JP's set was great. i liked the suspended animations stuff. wishful thinking, damage control, glasgow kiss......

then satriani...in a class by himself. there isnt much you can say other than he is God. unbelievable show joe. i loved every second of it. i loved how you and the rest of the guys were cool about the person who hopped up stage at the end. it was a sick 10 song (...i think) set. it was awesome... flying in a blue dream, cool #9, super colossal, always with me, always with you into the G3 jam was awesome and so much more. i can't wait until you come around again joe. thank you for a wonderful experience.

What an awesome night. After reading many of the reviews prior to tonight I was a bit worried. I read many negative reports on sound quality. The Tower Theatre sounded excellent. Every note from each guitar sounded awesome. I was 30-40 rows back...maybe if you were in row 1 it might sound muffled.

I've seen Satch, Vai, ZPZ and many other concerts in the past and this one ranks right up there with the best.

Paul Gilbert, where have you been hiding all these years? I'm familiar with the Racer X and Mr. Big stuff, but those days are long gone. His band was excellent (I thought it was Glenn Danzig on bass until he mentioned his name) and Paul was lightning fast. No disappointment here. Hell, he even teased that Mr. Big ballad "To Be With You"!

John Petrucci I am more familiar with. John was lightning quick and suprisingly my favorite of the three solo acts. This is heavily due to the fact that Mike Portnoiy was on drums. Terry Bozzio may be the only other drummer I've seen live that was better. Carmen Appice is the best, but I've never seen him. He even had those Tommy Lee drumstick twirls and tricks (Tommy Lee can't play drums though). His set seemed shortest, but that's probably because it was so good.

The Satch...awesome as usuall and Dave LaRue pulling a double shift. What more could you ask for. Lot from the Surfing album with I think ten songs total. Jeff Campatelli was spot on as usual. Having the G3 jam start during the end of "Always With Me..." was incredible. Then the jam continued with an awesome Hendrix medley and "Jumping Jack Flash". Paul even pulled out the old drill from the Mr. Big days!

Overall, 3 1/2 hours of kick-ass music.
