This was my first concert to see Joe and I have to say that it was absolutely fantastic, from the opening with Flying in a Blue Dream, to playing Super Colossal, to finishing with Summer Song and Crowd Chant. Absolutley Fantastic!! I drove 300 miles to see Joe and would drive even more to see him again!

JOE AND BAND - ALBUQUERQUE

Just wanted to say WHAT A GREAT NIGHT!!!! Could not have been any better!!!! Between Eric and you guys, it was the perfect concert!!!! Really enjoyed meeting you JOE youre a very great guy and i respect you a lot because i dont kno how you can play like that 6 nights a week and able to put on a fantastic show! same with you JEFF and DAVE! IT was great to meet you too JEFF,and to answer your question JEFF, there will be many more "SEE YA NEXT TIMES" the drums were sounding perfect and just to feel the bass was awesome, especially it being balanced with JOES's guitar. The only thing was. i think because the type of stage, there would be times the low's were canceling out JOE'S guitar but nothing to bad. I was sad i didnt have the honor to meet DAVE, you left right when i came. DAVE put on a great show and you added a perfect FUNK to the Groove and it was just so enjoyable. Im glad you liked the guitar i made JEFF and JOE. I would have liked to have brought the whole guitar but that would have been a hasel, the pictures i showed you guys doesnt compare to what it looks like in person!!! but it ment a lot coming from you JOE! Anyways, thanks for the fantastic night and to many more!!! To Joe and Band!

(Thanks John for putting together the Meet and Greet, youre awesome!) check out the pics below to remember A Slide Show RECAP

Please come to Santa Fe! The show in Albq. was thrilling! Yea, thrilling. The sound was SO clean, so well voiced. Having listened to Satriani since “Surfing…”, it was still a different experience to actually hear it all live. The punctuation and reverbation of sounds were such that the music had a spirit of it’s own. Admittingly, I hadn’t been able to hit the Satriani tour before. (Yes, I’m guilty – I’m sorry. That won’t happen again.) Eric Johnson’s set was fun – the infusion of country for one song was entertaining and a damn good warmer pre-Joe. I feel sorry for my friends and fellow New Mexicans who missed it. What were they thinking? One friend even tried to call me on my way to the show to get the groove somehow. Some people have been asking about the concert, all regretting they missed it. A few had seen the show before, but were interested in going again. It’s so clear why. Whether it was a tune that gets lots of radio play or a new song like “The Meaning of Love” the music was beautiful. The ripping guitar was true and Joe was pulling sounds out of his axe like no tomorrow. The jazz integration was surprising – how ya’ get that to blend with serious jamming is not only innovation, but freakin’ killer rhythm. Everyone in the band rocked – make the show longer – fans can handle more of it all including a spin by each guy fronting. The technical set-up was clean too. No feedback or muffled nothing. That does count. No amateurs. The guys threw out gifts and each Satriani pick has a drawing on it – one looked Colossal. So people get off your ass – headbang, dance – feel the vibe – I’m so glad my jazz hands travel. Thank you! And thanks to Barry – for making it sweet. True music to the heart!

What a great show! This definitely was a 'classic' Satriani show. He played all the favorites, and a bunch of songs off of Super Colossal. The Kiva Auditorium was a perfect venue. It was great just to sit back and relax and enjoy the music. It was a real pleasure to watch Jeff. He is one of the best drummers I have ever seen. Joe Satriani along with Eric Johnson is a show that cannot be missed. I hope they pair up together again in the future.

Thank you for an awesome time. I really enjoyed it.

Probably the best show he's ever done here, in Albuquerque. The additional 5-7minute jam added into Always with You, Always with Me, blew me away! After the concert, I was fortunate enough to get Joes' autograph and a picture. I asked/suggested that he re-record "Alwaysw/you,Always w/me with that extra jam. He told me that, in two days, at the Las Vegas show, they plan to tape the show for a DVD and that, that version of the song will be recorded!!! Joe, if you're reading this, PLEASE record a studio version of it, too! The line up of Galen, Dave and Jeff has been one of the best I've seen. No offense to Stu Hamm, but Dave can really jam on the bass! Galen is great on guitar, great support for Joe and really brings the music in line with studio quality. And of course..... Jeff.....what can you say? Jeff did great as usual! He's always spot on and never waivers. Thanks for a great show guys, and thanks, even more, for being gracious enough to stop and sign those autographs and take pictures. This made my nephews' birthday unforgetable. Ric Z

Smokin Joe was simply awesome last night! I've been a fan of Joe's since Not of This Earth was released, and this is my first time seeing him. I've waited many a year, and this show is not to be missed. Sat in the second row, right in front of him. All I can say is "WOW". His amps were cranked! My ears are still ringing a bit. Thats some serious stage volume, and I'm amazed at how fluid he is after all of these years. He makes it look soooo effortless as he plays, and he rarely misses a note, especially with all of those crazy bends, licks, etc. He's a class act performer having a really good time, and with the energy gets all of the crowd going. Definately a show I will never forget.

Set list hasnt changed... A good variety IMHO. We all have favorites that we want him to play, but this guy is already playing for two hours as is. Simply amazing. Highlights for me were Always with Me Always with You, Redshift Riders, Made of Tears, Ten Words, Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing, Surfing With The Alien, Crowd Chant, and Summer Song.

The band was very tight. Joe and Galen seem to switch guitars every couple of songs, but rotate though a set of axes each. Joe pulls out his JS series Ibanez with the Super Colossal artwork for a couple of songs, and of course, "Chrome Boy" visits for a couple of songs as well. I've been a fan of Dave LaRue for a while, so I liked alot of his work. He gives it a bit of his own flavor. Jeff was spot on and is "in the pocket" the entire time, and was wearing this crazy hat. Makes me want to play drums! Galen was incredible. How do you get that job? He was nailing rhythm guitar like no ones business and seemed to have a really good time.

It was great to see Eric as well. I last saw him in '90, so I was really looking forward to his set. Eric's tone, phrasing, and chord work are second to none. He just makes me want to burn my guitars! Highlights for his performance were Summer Jam, Good to Me, Trademark, SRV, and Cliffs of Dover. I wish I could play and switch between amps/pickups as easy as he does....
