Saturday night at the Agora was terrific. Thousands came to worship at the Altar of Joe.

Joe was heavy on the new stuff. He played 8 or 9 songs from his new "Super Colossal" album, but otherwise ignored the latter part of his studio recording career entirely. There were no songs in the set from any album released 1998-2004. Five songs from the seminal "Surfing with the Alien" album were played (Surfing, AWM/AWY, Ice 9, Circles, Satch Boogie), and no one can complain about that. The new disc is great, I like it more than SBM or ITLIS? but still it seemed odd to leap over four records' worth of material. Oh well. Give me Potato Head Groove thing and I'm happy, which you did, and I was. Joe occasionally put his mouth up to his fretboard and blew on his fingers, as if to cool them off. Funny. He wore his usual sunglasses, a black T-shirt with skull on it over dark blue jeans. Satch played several of his Ibanez JS series guitars, including Chrome Boy and a new custom "Super Colossal" guitar for that same tune. I didn't win aftershow passes but ended up with a guitar pic that the fellas threw out at the end. Joe hasn't done a solo tour in Cleveland since Crystal Planet, and I'd forgotten how mindblowing it is to watch him play. Thanks again for adding Cleveland to the itinerary. I first saw Joe on the "Surfing" tour in 87 or 88 at Peabody's Down Under in Cleveland, which was just a hole in the wall kinda bar. Nice to see Joe again almost 20 years later, many studio albums later, still sounding great and with a huge fanbase. It's wild that anyone can play rock guitar with such virtuosity for so long, night after night, with nary a sour note. I bow before the Satch.

Eric and his band sounded great, but his mid-song banter was off. He'd say something like, "It's great to be here playing for you" but the tone of his voice suggested, "I'd rather not be here." However, I've seen Eric live before and I think he's always this way--kinda shy and distant in front of crowds, prefering to let his guitars talk for him. He has a high singing voice for someone with a deep, low speaking voice. Interesting. But his chops were amazing. He was dressed in charcoal grey slacks and a black long sleeve turtle neck type shirt. Eric used his tobacco sunburst colored Strat for most of the set, if not all of it--I don't remember him changing guitars.

Absolutely phenomenal show, as always!

This was my second time seeing Eric Johnson and he sounded as good as before, if not better. The solo shred was great, it really showed off his talents and of course I enjoyed Cliffs of Dover to end the set.

Joe came on and opened up with my absolute favorite, Flying In a Blue Dream, what a treat to open the show! I really enjoyed the alternation between the old favorites and the majority of tunes from the new CD. Just Like Lightnin', The Meaning Of Love and Made Of Tears really sounded excellent. I was hoping to hear something off the newer releases besides what we heard from the new album, I think a song or two from Crystal Planet or Strange Beautiful Music would have seemed to make the show more 'complete' but I can't complain, I'm sure to hear them in the future.

I was impressed as always with the energy Joe and his band bring to the stage and the absolute accuracy that Joe brings to playing his guitar. Very few out there can play as well as Joe and then to rock at the same time is the icing on the cake.

Thank you for coming again to Cleveland, we absolutely love you here, and I hope to see more excellent shows down the road, including a G3 tour! I'm bound to buy the premium ticket package next one of these times as it would be a fantastic experience as explained by the others who have done the same.

Rock on Joe and keep the top notch, excellent music coming for many many more years!!!

First time seeing outside Joe of Minnesota, the wife and I flew into town for the concert and the R&R Hall of Fame. We were not disappointed.

Eric's set was amaizing to say the least. I have seen him a couple times in the past and his guitar works speakes for itself. Not sure if it was me, but he seemed a bit off toward the end of the show.... missed a couple notes here and there, plus that annoying hum from a burnt pickup on his guitar. Great set, and no complaints.

Joe is simply the master at what he does. I have seen him now about 10 times and he always gives a great show. I would love to have heard some of CP or SBM, maybe even some vocals from Flying, but thats not for me to complain about. Almost 2 hours of Joe doping what he does best.... just simply AMAZING!!!

Wow. And for these guys I can say, "Wow as usual".

I, along with two friends, made the drive from Penn State in central PA to Cleveland for the show. You might see this line coming: It was well worth the drive!!! (and well worth the missed hours of studying, haha) I feel that we received quite an education that night anyway. An education not just in guitar but in music itself.

This was my first time seeing Eric Johnson live. I was quite impressed with his performance, and I hope I'm first to coin the term " The Eric Johnson Backpedal". It was sort of a moonwalk-esque reverse-angus-young-duckwalk. Basically, Johnson grows about half a foot on tiptoe while sliding backward as if sliding on a stage of butter. Slick moves, and SICK guitar. Cliffs of Dover (the intro, especially), was epic, to say the least.

And Speaking of "Slick", how about "The Man" himself? What is there to say about Satch that hasn't already been said?

How bout, "Nice shoes!" That's about all I can think of. For everything else...

"Ditto."

ABSOLUTLELY AMAZING! There's no other way to describe the experience. The best concert i have ever witnessed.

Classic Joe all the way, looked and sounded tremendous! The addition of Dave LaRue on the Bass is a perfect match, and it would be great to see him stick with Satch. Jeff Campitelli, in my humble opinion, has become one of the best rock drummers ever, and the energy that he exerts live proves this. (Joe, don't ever let him get away!) Jeff and Joe play off each other so well, and it's clear they have fun playing together. Galen Hensen does a great job on the rhythm guitar, and plays off Joe very well.

An excellent way to open the show with Flying In A Blue Dream, then right into The Extremist. The intro's to Always with Me, Always with You and Summer Song were fantastic! They all brought the house down on Satch Boogie. (The thunder from the bass drum during Satch Boogie was intense!) Great light show to accompany every song, especially on Just like Lightnin'. And ofcourse, everybody participated in Crowd Chant! The entire performance by Joe and the band was mezmerizing! Hard to believe a live performance can sound that great!

This was my first time to see Eric Johnson, and it was awesome to witness and hear his exacting, and intense sound live! His rendition of Jimi Hendrix's Love or Confusion was Mind Blowing! Excellent sound throughout! I will definitely go see him again.

I can't wait till the next time i get to see them again....Thanks guys.
