AMAZING show Joe, I had expected to be blown away but not as much as i was! The set list was fantastic. Older songs like Moroccan,Hoard of locusts and Always were outstanding. To see you play a song like Time right in front of was something ill never forget, being with in 10 metres of you whilst playing was an absolute honour. To top the night off a magnificent Surfing With The Alien made me wonder even further if you really are human! The icing on the cake was getting the pic you used to play Searching with....much appreciated Joe. Thank you for coming all the way down here, please come again soon!..your Southern hemisphere fans love you just as much as the Northern!

I travelled 1186kms (Invercargill to Auckland) and I was not disappointed! What a great show!!! I also agree about the sound, but obviously that was out of your hands - the sound tech guys shoulda known. Anway, the set lists, the lighting, the atmosphere...what an experience. And Jeff and the guys were awesome. There was no way i was gonna miss this show! I hope to you get the chance to come back cos I'll travel that same 1186kms to see the show again! By the way, a G3 tour over here would be THE GREATEST!!!

the set list as far as i can remember the songs are right, order is alittle off... [set 1 - up in the sky, house full of bullets, jam > cool number 9, satch boogie, always with me always with you > new outro jam section] [break] ["acoustic" set with fretless bass - moroccan sunset, sleep walk, starry night] [set 2 - up in flames, hands in the air, hordes of locusts, searching > with long ending jam, bamboo, time, strange, war, lords of karma, summer song, flying in a blue dream] [encore, surfing with the alien]

Thanks Joe for an incredible concert. Nothing is better than seeing a guitar god live. The setlist was great with a good selection of killer songs such as up in the sky, war and surfing with the alien. It was played with great passion which made the evening more memorable. Please come back soon. Cheers Andrew Metal Up Your Ass!! \m/

Great show Joe!! I agree that the sound may have been a little loud for the size of the venue, but there's nothing like letting joe crank it out loud and pummble your eardrums with his amazing talent and tone. Great array of tunes, especially love having some of the older tunes out on display .e.g moroccan sunset, war, strange etc. Really great live. Thanks again for a VERY enjoyable and highly anticipated evening. Please don't take another 9 years to come back!

AWESOME ! Thanks for coming Joe, please don't wait another nine years. We were treated to wide range of numbers from 'Horde of Locusts' right up to 'Is there Love in Space?' Joe and the guys really seemed to be enjoying themselves and played several extended pieces. I was totally blown away with 'Always With Me, Always With You' with an amazing piece at the end. On the downside the volume levels seemed too much for the small venue.

this is my second JS concert (the last one at mountain rock, woodville about 10 years ago) and i wasn't disappointed. I rate both performances top-notch. this time i was much closer to the stage (plus it wasn't pissing down with rain like woodville) and joe played an awesome set with lots of jamming/improvisation going on. he played for nearly three hours!! (i counted 21 songs in the set). great value for money when you consider that, apparently, Cher only played for an hour in Wellington recently. i just have one small gripe - the sound got a bit muffled at times but i think it's these small indoor venues. i remember the same sort of thing with both Steve Vai & Yngwie at the powerstation (another small indoor Auckland venue). mountain rock definitely had the best sound but that was outdoors.we probably could've benefitted by standing down the back but, hey, who wants to stand at the back? I wish that JS would bring G3 down under, particularly if John Petrucci is on board. Looks like this is the beginning of an awesome tour.
