Joe's music was as good as ever, but there were problems.

Galen Henson is invisible, with very few exceptions. Why he's there I don't know. A perfect example is on 'Always....'. HE should be playing the arpeggios that start the song and NOT Joe. He did little more than play silent bar chords all night.

Matt Bissonette is a rocking bassist that has no place in a virtuoso ensemble like we expect the JS band to be. His low-slung style and deep, deep mix adds nothing but mud.

Jeff Campitelli - superb. Groovy, consistent, funny, dynamic, and even musical.

and Joe. Well, I get the feeling that some of his repertoire is limited by the ability (and style, I suppose) of Matt B. He's no Stu, that's for sure, and I think that eliminates some of Joe's more aggressive tunes. The mix was not eq'ed very well, as there were some resonant notes that literally hurt the ears. And there were no epiphany moments where Joe played something so unreal that we were left with jaws agape and egos busted.

Still, it was Joe Satriani, and he's still the most musical guitarist out there. The show was a 5 on the JS scale, perhaps a 7 on a generic scale. Almost worth the $, the drive, and the wait.

We've been going nuts trying to get on this site since the concert - been checking it numerous times daily to no avail - we thought it had crashed big-time. Well, we just had a complete power outage for several mintues and now we're able to pull up the site again - go figure.

Anyway - Great Concert! Long-time fans(since "Surfing"), first time concert - not that we haven't tried. :) It was great meeting so many fans and especially Joe himself. The Platinum Experience is just that! We're ready to do it again.

Dittos on the idea of playing Charleston, WV - we're very close.:) Jimi Hendrix played there in 1969 and loved the crowd.

First time to see Joe live. Drove 5 hours from WV to get there and it was WELL worth the trip! I loved that mix of old and new, and from reading reviews of other dates on the tour it seems he mixes it up from town to town which probably make it more enjoyable for HIM as well. If I HAD to pick out something that was not 100% I woud say that Joe seemed to be not as tight and precise as he usually is. Maybe he was just in a fun rocking mode, which is cool..... LOVED it no matter what.

JOE, Think about coming to WV.... Charleston would be great!!! You have lot of fans here.

First timer for a Satch live show. I have to say the Palace was a great place to see him. Especially five rows back. I would have preferred a 15 minute drive in Cincinnati but felt the drive to Columbus well worth it.

As far as those who always want to see the same set list I have to say lighten up. I liked the mix of old new and in between. I got into Joe's work after sampling some of Crystal Planet. After hearing a few of the older songs I'll have to go grab the earier CD's. The sound quality was great. Gotta hand it to the sound guys, Ibanez and the new JSX. Sounded better than the G3 DVD I have. The lights were fine and the interaction was enough to feel it was definitely live. In my opinion some of the extended work was just the right amount to personalize some of the studio work. All in all it's been the best concert for the money in this area this summer/fall. Maybe next tour we can get Joe in Cincy?

I purchased the Platinum Ticket experience and it was simply amazing. This was the 7th time I've seen Joe live and I must say his playing looked amazing and full of energy and passion. As much as I like hearin my old favorites (Crush of Love and Circles, for example) it was also very cool to hear some of the often not played songs along with the new record material, which really sound excellent live.

Getting a chance to meet Joe, and have him sign my Ibanez JS, it was just as gratifying to finally tell him how integral his music has been in my life and how it has literall been the sound track to my life.

Hats off to everyone involved with the Platinum deal. The pre-show stage tour was great and Jeff was very gracious to hang out with us us for so long! If you can swing the money and Platinum opportunity comes to a town near you, don't hesitate!!

Joe's talent always amazes me no matter how many times I have seen him. He is truly the best. The fact that Joe hangs around to meet his fan club members and everyone else who sticks around just goes to show you how genuine and how cool he really is. I love that about him.

On another note, I was really looking to get a pick from the show but couldn't locate one. I have a personal collection of picks that I have collected over the years and would like to add this one as well. I have one from Joe's Time Machine tour and would really like to get one from this tour as well. From one Joe fan to another, I would certainly appreciate it.

What a great show Satch! The extended version of "Always with me..." was amazing. The revisiting of a lot of the oldies in your repetoire was a cool surprise too ("Moroccan Sunset", "Motorcycle Driver") and were great to hear live. The 2nd set was a very cool downshift from set 1 and "Sleepwalk' was the best song of the evening! Jeff, as always, kicks a--. What a fantastic drummer you've got.

I'd ask you to think about Promowest Pavillion on your next stop as the Palace, while nice and ornate, didn't do you justice because of the excess capacity.

whats up all. so i went to the show last night, it was number 4 for me. i enjoyed it as expected. i do have a couple of things that didnt sit with me too well though. i am a huge satch fan, and anyone who cares enough to come on here and register and post reviews are also the most die hard of fans. but last night i felt could have been much better, and please do not take my comments in a negative light. the songs chosen were a lot stuff i have never heard joe played live before, but almost all of my favorites were missing. 1. Love thing 2. Rasberry jam 3. Friends 4. Circles 5. SUMMER SONG 6. Borg sex 7. Lifestyle (new album) 8. Mystical Potato Head 9. i believe

I just couldnt believe he didnt play these songs. As time passes, unfortunately, it is harder for Joe to fill up venues, in Columbus it was only at about half capacity. So I hope Joes understands this and could consider this for future tours, please play the hits, at least most of them, and of course mix it up with rare stuff. I know i will hear some negative feedback here, but please let me know if any of you feel the same.

Well, I suspect this is the tour that a lot of long-time Satch fans like myself have been waiting for- the one where Satch delves deep in to his repertoire and plays some of his creative but lesser known works from the last 20 years. It obviously energized him- he played for nearly three hours and really cut loose on several solos, including If I Could Fly and Motorcycle Driver. Other times, he just looked like he was having fun out there, throwing in some experimental chord sequences and funk riffs here and there.

We didn't just see Joe the Stage Performer last night, we also saw a hyper-talented musician who still loves his craft, and loves sitting down for hours at a time in his home coming up with new sounds for all of us to hear. He made me re-think my stance on a couple of songs that I had previously deemed "skip-able" on his old CD's, like Moraccan Sunset, which was awesome live. He played Flying in a Blue Dream as spot-on as I've heard- it sounded as good as the studio version! I gotta believe Joe left the stage thinking, "Man, I NAILED that one tonight!".

Thanks again Joe. PLEASE don't ever stop making music!

P.S. I gotta give PROPS to my wife for having a great time, even when other guys were leaving half-way through the second set because their girlfriends weren't enjoying themselves. Word to the wise, gentlemen- bring some earplugs for your girl. She'll thank you for being thoughtful, and you'll get to watch the whole set!
