For those people who attended this Deep Purple/Joe Satriani/Thin Lizzy concert - especially those who have never heard of Joe Satriani - I know those folks walked out of that concert with soiled shorts!! This being the 3rd Joe Satriani concert I've seen - and so far the very best JS performance EVER!!!! "Is There Love In Space" was the coolest song to hear him play LIVE! I was hopeful to hear "If I Could Fly" because that is now my absolute favorite JS jam, but that's ok - because Joe busted out with some killer jams like an extended version of "Always..." and a suprise belt-out of "WAR" from The Extremist!!! DAMN, THAT FKN ROCKED!!! During Deep Purple's show - I could see Jeff sittin behind the DP stage (with his "lady friend") and between songs he looks over at myself and couple of friends as we were wavin' at him - and JEFF, as cool as he is WAVES BACK!! We love ya, Jeff!! I had the opportunity to meet Joe Satriani AND Jeff Campetelli (also met Vai and Malmsteen) at the G3/Paramount show last year. After telling my friends how cool Jeff was (Joe, your cool too!!) and after Jeff waved at us at that show, I told my buddies "See.. told you he was cool!!" I could not have picked a better style of rock music or a better group of musicians to be the biggest fan of! Our group of SATCH fans is only getting bigger better and stronger!!! Keep rockin' guys and don't stop releasing albums and going on tour and you have my promise WE'LL BE THERE!! Joe Satriani's music is Rock at it's purest and most refined form. Jimi Hendrix would be so proud to see what his influence has done for Joe. If only Joe knew how HIS influence has done for myself!! From the bottom of my heart to my callus finger tips - THANK YOU JOE and thanks to the whole band!!! pete yakima, washington

Seeing Joe play always leaves me awestruck. I am never disapppointed in his performance no matter what he plays. I find myself listening for flaws in performance, and even under the most critical scrutiny, he always makes the music happen. It's never exactly the same, there are some subtle differences, but it always works. Thanks Joe ! Was great to get to meet and chat with you, although time went by so fast, didn't get to interact nearly as much as I would have liked. I still don't have the pix, My sweetie and I are anxiously waiting to put "US" on the wall in my little studio. Sometime when you're in the pdx area, give me a ring and we can go fishing or something, just to relax. Hope to see you in Vegas, later this year. Maybe buy you a beer?

Most of my review you have read here previuosly. Thin Lizzy came out promtly at 7pm. On our way down to our seats on the front floor I noticed a familiar face as I was walking. Before my brain could register "hey that looks like Joe" I threw my hand out and said Hey Joe. Next thing I know we are talking w/ Joe himself. So down to earth and personable he was. Guess he was checking out the view of the stage from different vantage points. I also met Joe at the American Music Free clinic in Bellevue WA he put on in 5/2004. Both times I reminded Joe that the way I was introduced to his music was when he played warmup for Stevie Ray Vaughn at The Piers in NYC back in the 80's (no we are not getting any younger). We saw him two nights in a row back then. After the 1st night I couldn't describe Joe's performance (as warm up for SRV). I just remember commenting on how good this guy Joe was. Then the 2nd night as Joe started playing -"""Whhooszh""" - it hit us. The music made sense, and it was awesome. We've seen Joe every time he comes to town (NYC till 1988, 1989 - present = Seattle) since then. Thin Lizzy was alot better than I expected. they were hugely LOUD. I really liked the fast loud soloing between (and together) of the hunbuckers and the strat. They rocked and was glad to be there. I know they started w/ Jailbreak, and also played suicide, cowboy, and the boys are back in town. Lizzy played for about 40 minutes. Then at 7:55 pm Hey Joe started playing. Then Joe came out in his regular Awesome form. He just so looks like he LOVES TO PLAY GUITAR. I thought the show was something like Hands in the air (red guitar), Satch Boogie, Cool #9, Gnahh, I like the rain (coming down on me). Always (all these on Chrome Boy), Up in flames(a brown wood guitar?), ITLIS, War, Blue Turtle and then one of the Lizzy guys came out and played Goin Down as the closer (all on a white guitar).Joe played for about 65 minutes Joe is the man - absolutely the BEST. Then Deep Purple - man what a blast from the past. It's great to hear that "Deep Purple sound". Can't decsribe it - you must be there to understand. I know they opened w/ Tokyo, and played I got your #, Bannanas? knockin at the back door? Hiway star, space truckin, smoke on the water, speed king and closed w/ Hush. DP played for about an 1-1/2 hours. Very entertaining and great to hear. I think they rubbed off on me more than I thought. We'll see ya next time you are in town Joe - Thanx for being all things JOE! Love always Paul & Rosie (zaphen) (half Zappa, half Hendrix)
