Another excellent show by Satch, he played for about an hour. I took a few pix, and they are posted here: http://gk.myphotoalbum.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=Satriani_JB

Deep Purple was great as always, Thin Lizzy was OK, nothing to go crazy about.

Just saw Thin Lizzy, Satch and Deep Purple last night, and what a night that was! I missed Thin Lizzy's first song ("Jailbreak"), but otherwise they were pretty good; some of the shredding does get a bit tasteless at times. Joe Satriani of course was amazing, and I was on my toes waiting for him to come out. The songs he played from Is There Love In Space? ("Up In Flames," "I Like The Rain," "Is There Love In Space") made me want to buy the album. And of course he played some classics, such as "Satch Boogie," "Cool #9," "Always With Me, Always With You," and "Surfing With The Alien," which were just breathtaking. As for Deep Purple...all I can say is that they were very tight musically as a band, and hearing classics like "Space Truckin'," "Knockin' At Your Back Door," "Highway Star," and of course "Smoke On The Water," made the night unreal. Rock on Thin Lizzy. Rock on Deep Purple. And of course, rock on Satch.
