This was my first time seeing Joe. And the first time in the HOB. I was visiting my mom, and her friend, Frank, offered me a free ticket 'cause his friend bailed. (I already had tickets to see him at the Crest in Sacramento 10 mins. after they went on sale.) I'm only 18 and the show was 21+ so I had to watch the first half from the resteraunt. When I heard the drum beat for Summer Song I ran to a security guy and asked if I could go in just for that song. To make a long story short, i had to run around to different security before they finally let me in. I met up with Frank inside and was immediately mesmorized by Joe's playing. He would move up and down the fret-board like it was no sweat, then all of a sudden hit a harmonic, then a divebomb (which i'm still trying to figure out how he does that) and the only thing I'm thinking is, "WOW!" He played most of my favorite songs. You can't fit all of my favorites in a single set. But needless to say, I've seen alot of really geat shows, but this was the best show i've seen yet. Can't wait to see him at the Crest.

AMAZING SHOW, JOE! Joe is such a great guitar player with so much passion and fire in his playing. In addition, he has great attitude, look, and presence on stage. The show was 2.5 hours long! well worth it. I was at the front row at the House of Blues being 2 feet away from Joe.

What I want to say would take volumes, so I will just say....Another Great Show. I had a tough time getting in cuz I left my ID at work that day and had to get my boss to fax it to the HOB at the last minute. Whew, that was a close one. I didn't want to have to listen to Joe throught the door. The only thing I noticed was that the sound down in the pit wasn't very good. I think they set up the speakers to get optimal sound at the front-center on the SECOND level. Still could hear Joe. I was impressed with Matt's bass playing as I have never seen him live. He was about 10 cent flat to Joe the whole show though, which was a little annoying, but I don't know if it was his fault. I'm sure that they tune Joe's guitars sharp so that he cuts through, but the axe he used for the last part of the show I think was tuned a little too high, if this is the case. Either that or Matt was flat. It didn't ruin my appreciation of the whole thing, though. Actually made it a little more interesting. -TADD

Outstanding show! I saw Joe earlier in the week at the Grove, and the House of Blues show was a much better experience. With the smaller venue, you can really get up close and being in the second row on the left side where Joe plays most of the time was heaven. It's absolutely amazing watching him play <sigh>. Joes guitar was crystal clear and not drowned out by the bass and drums like the Grove show. I think I've seen Joe seven times now, and I'd say this gig was probably the best. Hopefully I'll win one of those coveted backstage passes one of these days!

Well, I must say this was much better than G3 @ the Sun Theatre last time around. An evening with Joe is definitely the only way I will go in the future to view the master play. This was my first time @ the Hollywood-HOB, pretty cool place and a real good opportunity get up close. This was my 3rd time seeing Joe play and definitely the closest I’ve ever gotten to the stage, what a special treat to see everything so up close and personnel. Joe's playing was right on the money-like anyone expects anything less right? Joe? Do you have any limitations on that instrument? The reason I ask is I have heard so many of your live performances before but, you injected so many new fills, licks and riffs that I was most of the time standing shaking my head with my mouth hanging open thinking my goodness, I’m most assuredly viewing the finest guitar musician of this day and age. Your ability to set, leave and re-enter tonal center is unmatched in my view of virtuosity guitar music. Now on to the supporting cast, Jeff and Matt’s combined solo was utterly amazing. The power and driving passion you both brought forth at that moment was mesmerizing. Matt, I feel possessed to apologize for the ignoramus who kept yelling STU-STU. For him not to listen and appreciate your talent and gifted ability is truly his misfortune. Jeff, I understand your reluctance to avoid the spot light but, you are quite possibly one of the finest live drummers thumping on stage at this time. Last but not least there’s Galen. If you’re still wearing the hat that requires managing this tour and accompanying Joe and this unit on stage then you are truly a multi-talented individual. To close, I want to thank you Joe and your entire ensemble for bringing such an eclectic, entertaining and rhythmic encounter to the stage for all (who understand) to see. P.S. Midnight was so beautiful and special to see. You are the man we all aspire to play like. I rate this show a solid 10 - the best I've ever seen. JMSilvis

Great show!! This is my first time catching Satch live in concert. The performance was impeccable but unfortunately the unruly crowd soured the experience. A little scuffle actually broke out in the front row when some fool tried to grab the microphone stand to steal a pick. Joe's playing was top-notch as expected and the band was firing on all cylinders. Matt is a brilliant bass player but sadly many people were still screaming for Stu. Another shame is that Joe didn't play 'Rubina' for the encore.
