What can I say? I am speechless about this concert! It was the greatest event that I have ever had the pleasure of participating in. I loved the way Joe started off Cool #9 and Summer Song, it was refreshing and suprising. I'm waiting for the next show to roll around, I will definitly catch it. The range in age groups attending caught me off gaurd, there were so many different ages and peoples there. It was nice to feel a sense of unity and commraderie among my fellow Philadelphians and non-philadelphians alike. Joe, you brought us together for one night of majic and great tunes, thank you!!! Okay, everybody, I'm sure that by now, all of you who were at the Philadelphia show at the Electric Factory and all who viewed it on the Webcast have heard of the infamous "Rubber Guitar Freak" who attended the show that night. I think that everybody is anxious to read a review from Mr. Air Guitar himself! Well, folks, her I am, in the flesh!!! I consider every Satch show I go to as a sort of religious experience, and my exibition that night is simply a form of worship...my personal payment of homage to the Lord Of Karma himself at the altar of Satrianism! Dare I say, this show in particular was no less of an experience. To sum it all up in one word...YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! Me and my friend Joe drove up from Baltimore, and got to the Electric Factory at 3 O'Clock, so as to get a spot right in the front. There were already seven people there ahead of us! Spent the last hour before the show spacing out on the plastic guitar, playing Satch tunes for the guys behind us. Being an avid Satch fan, I've memorized EVERY SOLO in EVERY SONG since "Not Of This Earth"! By the time 8:30 rolled around, I was kicking at the barrier with ants in my pants! (Sing this next part.) "And then...and then...and then...then along came Joe!" He opened the show with "Time", one of the greatest Satch songs of all time, second only to "With Jupiter In Mind", which, unfortunately, he DIDN'T play, but I'm not complaining. The rest of the show kicked enough petuti to make up for it. After blistering through "Devil's Slide","Crush Of Love", and "Satch Boogie", he made my night by coming over and saying "Nice guitar" and topped it off by grooving out to "Borg Sex" next. Satch classics "Flying In A Blue Dream", "Cool #9", and the coolest version of "Summer Song" I've ever heard live also made it into the first set. I'd swear he was playing "dueling guitars" with me on "Ice 9"!!! During intermission, one of the road crew came over and handed me the setlist from the first half of the show, which I now proudly display on my wall in my home studio. Still has the original black tape on it! My friend Joe caught a guitar pick later that night during the second set, in which Joe finally played "Train Of Angels" (YYEESS!!!). "Clouds Race Across The Sky" was most impressive with the blue and yellow lights and the fog machines to simulate the rolling clouds. And "Rasberry Jam Delta-v" gave me a chance to do some major headbanging!! After ending it all off with "The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing", "One Big Rush", "Always With Me, Always With You", and "Big Bad Moon", he played only one encore, treating us to a dose of "Friends" and "Surfing With The Alien", but not before pointing to me and commenting "You've been playing that thing great all night, man"! Jammin' air guitar! Hot dog! Recognition from the master of explosion himself, for millions of Internet fans to see. Made all that Satch worship worth it. Surprised he didn't at least play "Flavor Crystal 7", though, but I don"t have the heart to complain after the best Satch show I've ever been to in my life!!! Oh, and Stu followed up "Love Thing" with his usual bass solo, which kicked major butt!!!! Hats off to him for his homage to the late Charles Shultz with his rendition of "Linus And Lucy"! So, In a nutshell, the light show was awesome (especially liked the rainbow overheads), the sound was b**chin', and the display of Joe's playing captivating (When I had my eyes open, that is!). Positively the best thing I've seen...period...since the Ozric Tentacles played the Recher Theater in Towson! My hats off to everybody who made it the most spectacular night of my life and one that I will never forget, at least until the next show! I'm going to bed now, to recover. As I write this, my voice is STILL hoarse from screaming, and my neck is STILL stiff from headbanging, but it was all worth it, and I'd do it again in a minute. And guess what? I did! I went to the show in D.C. the very next day! Why? 'Cause I'm a freakin' lunatic. And the music of Joe Satriani has made me that way!!! If you haven't seen this guy live yet...WHAT THE BLUE BLAZES ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!!? Go, you fool!!!!!!!!!! SATCH ROXXXXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Logging in late with this one, but the show in Philly was awesome. And I was so thrilled to hear Joe finally play Big Bad Moon. Maybe I just missed it on the two times that I've seen Joe before (the "Joe Satriani" album tour and the G3 concert at the Valley Forge Music Fair). And it goes without saying that Stu Hamm is totally awesome. I happened to be in Atlanta for Music City Midtown and saw Satch there, and didn't think that an outdoor arena lended itself to Joe, also a lot of the fans werent' Satriani fans, and there wasn't the buzz and anticipation that I experienced in Philly. Anyway, keep on rocking Satch and Satch fans!

Incredible show. I was 5th row and the sound was great. After he played one set, he said he was taking a break and coming back one and I turned to my friend and we were both amazed that the show was still going! He played 2.5 great hours, and had a nice mix of songs from every album. I also really liked the tight, full sound the songs from the new album had when the full band played them. Also, STU HAMM IS GOD! Incredible bass solo, probably impressed me the most of anything all night!

Is 10 as high as the rank goes? How about a 99! THE SHOW WAS AWESOME!!! IT WAS NOT ONLY BETTER THAN THE 1998 SHOW AT THE TOWER THEATRE, IT WAS EVEN BETTER THAN THE BLACK SABBATH SHOW HERE IN MD LAST SUMMER! Being in front, right in front is nothing that can be compared with. Yes, I was with the rubber guitar man in the front and I do know him. He is definately Satchurated... and so was I after this one. I own all his albums, but nothing compares to being there. One thing, I had no idea that he mingled outside later that night - and we missed it DOH!!!!!! Next time, we'll wait even if it is until 6AM. Cya.

Just came back from the weekend in the USA, with Patricia (Flamingone). Philadelphia beautiful, weather perfect & the concert the BEST EVER. 24 songs & the band & Joe were on sparkling form, I've never seen them so AMAZING. great set list. Thanks so much Joe, Eric, & Jeff (sorry we didn't get to speak to Stu. ) for taking the time, yet again, to talk with us. Joe you looked really well & relaxed, thanks for the pick, excellent music, bonus CD & the memories. I can't believe it all happened now, it seems like a wonderful dream. A long way to go but it was worth every penny & every minute. See you all in the UK. Good luck with the rest of the tour. THANKS A MILLION GUYS. Love Sylvie.

It was great to finally get the opportunity to see Joe and the band live. The show was fantastic!! Joe, your guitar playing was stellar and absolutely amazing. You and your band were one of the tightest live bands I have seen and since I'm 40+ in age that comprises a lot of shows. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with all of us. Look forward to catching you live again soon!!!!!

After the NYC show at the Hammerstein, I don't know what to say, when your jaw is hanging slack, but the Electric Factory was another hair-raiser. A smaller venue that added another angle to the show; video screens and a wyld crowd in Philly. This crowd was rockin' and Joe, Jeff, Eric and Stu were beaming from it. The webcast added reel excitement to the evening, the music was live to the world. The lighting-show was dead on here in the more narrow building and came alive all the way to house-rear. Fabulous energy from the front 'gate' with the crowd jumping with every move the band made, Joe was into this big-tyme, and relly got them going. Crystal Planet was a killer, The Extremist (a fav) and BORG,..awesome. When He came out to do Surfin' with the Snake,..well the fat tone of that guitar was so deep you couldn't help but rock-it-up. New York and Philly, what can you say; There is no comparing shows that are beyond reach of body&soul. See this tour! The best shows I've EVER seen in 30 years of concert going. There is lots of great music in the world - But only *ONE* Joe Satriani.

I have been a fan of Joe's for a while, but this the first time I been to one
of his concerts. It was by far the best concert I have ever seen. It was general
admission so we showed up about 2 and a half hours early to get a good view. I hate
GA but,it was well worth it. We got just to the left of the stage and right in the front.
Perfect view I never missed a note. Well, on to the show. He played 2 sets 27 songs
in all. The concert was 3 hrs long which was awesome. His playing is smooth, fast, and
right on the button. I don't think he missed a note. The G3 video is great but nothing
compared to seeing him in person. The rest of the band sounded great. Stu's bass solo was
very cool. But, Joe's playing is frightening. If you are a musician it will scare
or inspire you. I chose the latter. My advice to anyone who hasn't seen him live
is go if you can. But, what top the night off was waiting outside after the show
and meeting him in person. He was really nice let us take pics with him and sign
autographs. Stu has really nice and funny also. Thanks Joe, Stu, Jeff, and Eric for
a great show.

Wow, what a great show. I was one of the lucky people right in the front. One of the very nice event staff gave me a pair of ear plugs as I was right in front of the left set of speakers. Didn't get a pick though. It was so cool being that close and being able to see everything Joe did. Stu had an excellent solo. Mike and Eric were perfect as usual.

The show was fantastic. Eric fit in perfectly! As usual the guys looked like, and were, having a great time. I can't say enough about the skills these four men possess. Joe's guitar playing was mind-blowing to say the least. When he brought out "The Snake" guitar my chin hit the floor! I've seen pictures of it, but to see Joe play it was incredible. When my eyes weren't on Joe, they were usually on Jeff. Man, he was tearin' it UP! What a view I had! Second row center stage. Joe was right in front of us, and Jeff was right behind him *thank ya Jesus!* lol! Glad Evan, Mak & Ryan got the plastic guitar guy over on their side! LMAO! The lights were fantastic, and I still have my hearing in tact (I left my earplugs hang around my neck all night). Whatever Stu played after his Peanuts theme was killer! It was one of those "duuuude" moments! lol! Joe mentioned that Stu has a new c.d. coming out in July, but I forget the name of it. After the show all the guys came out and signed autographs and shook hands & chatted for awhile. It was so cool meeting the people from the Un-List and the T2J page. Cool t-shirts, hats, posters and keychains for sale, so save your lunch money! The show left me with a permanent smile on my face! I'm so glad we got to share our experience of watching the band with all the people watching the webcast. How f-ing cool is that!

The show was incredible! I was in the front row, next to the guy with the inflatable guitar who was rocking out on it all night (in case you heard Joe comment on him during the Webcast). Joe's playing was really on, and emotion was everywhere. Stu, Jeff, and Eric all played wonderfully as well. I couldn't ask for much more. The biggest surprise was when I got to go backstage... such a great experience! All the guys are very down to Earth, although Stu didn't stick around long. I got some things signed from Joe, and a few picutres with him. I'd like to thank JR Riccio for 'the hookup', I am very grateful for that. Great show, great people, great evening.... This concert blew me away. This was the best thing I have ever seen! Joe played great, as did everyone else in the band. Stu gave us all a laugh as he went into the "Charlie Brown" theme in the middle of his bass solo. Stu also proved he is a superb bassist! This was my first time, and I think the entire time I was staring at his left hand...well, I think I'm going to lock myself in my bedroom with my guitar and not come out for years! Until this time I've always been a huge fan of Randy Rhoads, but Joe, YOU BLEW HIM OUT OF WATER! YOUR THE BEST! ...And, next time, throw me a pick!

I saw the webcast. The show was tremendous. Unfortunately net congestion caused too many audio cutouts to merit a 10, so I gave it a 9. My wife and I will be at the New Orleans House of Blues show May 10. It will be my second time to see Joe Live, the other at this same venue in 98 on the Crystal Planet Tour. As for this performance, Raspberry Jam Delta-V was totally awesome. I especially enjoyed the live performances of the EOC music. Also, another excellent performance of The Crush Of Love, which is my wife's favorite Satch Song. In New Orleans, please add Motercycle Driver,The Speed Of Light, and House Full of Bullets to the set if possible.

The show last night was great! Joe was definitly on his game. This was the first time I have ever seen him live and did he ever blow me away. He played everything a Satch fan would want to hear. From Surfin With The Alien to Rasberry Jam Delta-v. But what really moved me where the live versions of Love Thing and Down,Down,Down. This guy can say it all with one note just as good as when he burns up and down chromeboys neck. If you haven't got your ticket for the show when it comes to your town. Do yourself a favor get it now you won't regret it. Joe puts on a great show.

I know that he would like to give a show everywhere around the world where his fans are, but that is impossible... But I just hope that he can include Portugal in the choosen places... Portugal is near Spain and France and Spain has 2 concerts and France has 8 or 9... Portugal just asks for one!!!

First let me say what a magical night! I was fortunate to be one of the lucky aftershow pass winners to go back stage to meet Joe and the band which I did. I had met Joe twice before but not in this setting. I got to talk to him one on one for about 5 minutes, and if he is not the most down to earth musician then I don't know who is. I got my picture taken with him and and I will never forget it. Ever ! Now onto the show. From start to finish Joe and the boys absolutely rocked. The sound was incredible and they were just having as much fun as the audience. Songs like: Time, Crush of Love, Ice 9 , Cool#9 , and Love thing were incredible just like the entire show was. It's funny because every time I see joe live, he just keeps getting better & better ! In conclusion he is by far head and shoulders above the rest. Joe thanks for being the musician and the person that who you are.Oh, and by the way- Philadelphia loves you !!!!

Hey Gang! Just thought I'd drop in an give my review of the Webcast tonight. All I can say is "OUTSTANDING"! I have seen Joe work his magic live only twice before. Once on the G3 in Dallas back in October '97 and the second time on the Crystal Planet tour Fargo, North Dakota in July '98. This is the best show I've seen yet! He is a force to be reconed with. A true master of the craft and on this tour...this show to be specific, he was darn near at the top of his game. I know his music backwards and forwards, note for note, in, out and sideways. I love to hear him perform his music live because he does ALOT of improvisations that just don't show up on the commercial releases. Sometimes he even alters major portions of the songs to bring more emotion into the performance. What's cool is that with a Satriani song performed live....you just never know what you're gonna get. Each tune is always delivered in a new way and really keeps the music fresh. Over the course of the webcast I could only see Joe "Mess Up", if you can call it that, about 4 or 5 times. I read an interview with him a year or so ago where he said that is one of the things that he keeps foremost in his mind while he's performing..."Trying not to make mistakes" and he strives for that every time he picks the Chromeboy. He is very exacting and critical of his performances, but I'm here to tell ya.......He comes pretty damn close to perfection every time. Lets face it...Joe doesn't write to many "easy" songs and I credit him with pulling off LIVE the most absolutely difficult trick in guitar history......the arpeggios in "Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing". I get nervous for him EVERY time he goes to do them cause its such a DIFFICULT move, but he comes through like a champ every time, and this show was no exception. The new tunes were GREAT! "Clouds Race Across the Sky" I think should have been delivered more like how it exists on the EOC disc, but instead it took on more of a Hardcore Rock Jam atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, it was freakin' awesome, but I think some of the original feeling of the tune was lost. Anyway, I won't rehash the setlist since it has been posted numerous times in past reviews. All I can tell you is...GO SEE THIS SHOW!! Joe is without a doubt one of the most talented and gifted musicians of our time. Go see him and become a part of history. **Peace**

Man, that was a fun concert- my head is still reeling! Unfortunately, due to everything that could possibly go wrong happening, I got there at 9:10 so I missed a bunch of songs, incl. Devils Slide and Borg Sex- D'oh. But it was still more than worth it being able to see Satch play for my first time. Stu, you blew me away with your solo- playing both rhythem and lead at the same time for the peanuts theme! Satch was perfect as expected and I can't wait to see him perform again. My only complaint was the outrageous prices for t-shirts! $27 is a bit excessive, and you aren't doing your fans a favor by charging $40 to get a long sleeve T and the extra CD that was free to begin with. That just annoys me- Satch seems to really love his fans, he shouldn't be gouging them at the merchandise stand. Still, an amazing show!

All I can really do to summarize the best show I've ever been to is to tell the story of it all - I arrived at the Electric Factory at 4:15 (4 hours and 15 minutes early!) and talked with a lot of people... The wait was well worth it, as I got front row right in front of Stu. This turned out to be one of the many perks because I got Stu's pick! To top that off, when I talked to Stu after the show he actually said "I'm glad you got it"! The show itself was incredible! I was blown away - this is my second time of seeing Joe live, and I was completely amazed, I don't even know how to describe it in words. The funniest part was the guy near me with the inflatable guitar going crazy... He was in front of us in line before the show being just as crazy with that guitar! Stu's solo was superb, even better than the Crystal Planet one. The band was on - Jeff did awesome and Eric was an excellent rhythm player/keyboardist. Joe is the man, and is my hero. During Summer Song Joe looked at me and I lifted out the front of my Satch shirt and smiled, and in the middle of playing he pointed at me, nodded, and smiled! I was very happy. Afterwords I bought some merchandise and waited for the band to come out. I was actually trying to get backstage first, and I badgered one of the security guys until he gave me the setlist with Joe's footprint on it! However, I must mention that while talking to another security guy about getting backstage he threatened to beat me up. Sorry, I'm too big a fan I guess. Anyway, once again the wait was worth it and Stu came out first. After thanking him for the pick and having him sign my setlist, I shook his hand and heard him mention something about a G3 tour this fall. Later, Joe, Jeff and Eric came out. Jeff and Eric were really friendly and funny and I got them both to sign my setlist and talked a bit... And I went over to Joe and told him my name and he recognized me from the site! He was really really nice and I probably looked like a complete idiot cause I was so nervous. I shook his hand and got a picture with him and managed to get a few words out, but not many! Anyway, what I would have said if I were capable Joe is that you had an awesome show and thank you for all the music and inspiration you are THE MAN. You seemed to notice how danged nervous I was too, you were really nice. Oh yeah, and later I asked Mike Manning for an autograph and he gave me two picks instead... What a nice guy! Anyway, that's my loooong review... Great job!

Such a great show and one of the best yet. You have me hooked more and more each time. Your rendition of Surfing with the Alien was terrific. Great Borg SEx. It was great meeting all of you outside in the wee early morning hours...so I had to add this too... Thank you, Joe, Stu, Jeff and Eric----------Mary Golly

Well even though I wasn't in Pennsylvania and didn't even have a ticket the concert was great, all of it, except for a small glitch i had. I got there at 6:30 and was the only one there, no other people in site!..because I was online!...and then at about 6:45pm here joe started playing, and man was the show awsome. And the live sound mix was perfect, with bass, drums, keyboards, and Joe at the right levels, you couldn't ask for better, and the quality wasn't bad either! Almost felt like I was there, with my Sound Blaster Live! and all...lol..But I really did feel the show, as my bass was booming to Stu and Jeff and the solos screaming with Joe :). At least the neighbors didn't feel it necessary to have officer Smiley come over tonight...."Time" was great starting off..but man when "Devil's Slide" started up I was getting goosbumps! And I'm here in AZ where its hot! lol That was just awesome..but the highlight of the evening for me was "Raspberry Jam Delta V"...Man was that rocking! And then at the end of it, it was as if someone had spiked the raspberry jam jar..because joe was going beserk stirring it up with the whammy bar..must have been making a raspberry molitof cocktail..which was lit with the whammy bar! Was awesome talk about a performance! That version of "Raspberry Jam Delta V" should be included on the DVD, was just too awesome! "Cool#9" was..well VERY cool..! Oh and Joe, during the intermission I was heating up beans and rice and reconnecting so I wouldn't be booted off..just letting you know cause you said you didn't have a clue what the online folks would be doing during the break...LOL..Ok, Back to the concert.."Down, Down, Down" was great too! And Stu was great just as before! Man can he jam on that bass! Only major problem I had was that Joe froze my computer by playing "Clouds Race Across the Sky"..it just kept looping a portion of a riff! At first i though Joe had a cramp (like that would really happen..LOL), but my computer just couldn't handle Joe doing that :)] Anyways I got back on intime to see him begining "Train of Angels"..So I didn't miss much. And the extra special touch to the evening was "Big Bad Moon", "One Big Rush", TMPHGT - [SIDE NOTE: Even while shredding mystical potatos with the chrome boy Joe Still has his might turtle head bobbing thing going on.], and "Friends" being played. Man are they great! Now I can't wait till I really get to see him live and without glowing blue spots on his head...Must be from them Mystical potatos Joe, don't eat too many. Oh BTW, no fans got on stage tonight..oh well, you can't have everything i guess, maybe next time...LOL. Keep on doing what you do Joe..and that's something to do with making music! See you in Phoenix joe..and have the picks corrected by the time you get there please...

Is this guy really human? I couldn't possibly be happier right now. The concert just ended a few brief moments ago, and Mr. Satch-man himself played just about every song that i wanted to hear him play!(Including my personal fav Raspberry Jam Delta V) Also, Stu's Bass solo was incredible! I can't believe it was a bass guitar making those sounds ... he is so talented! The whole experience lasted 3 hours ... YES!! 3 HOURS!!! It was a treat for sure. He played 4 songs off of EOC, and WOW! Borg Sex is just incredible! He traded off licks at the end with Eric, and the way they ended the song was amazing (borg sex). It actually sounded like a female(Eric's high pitched whammy tone), and satriani's usual growl as the male Borg! Joe loves playing his music ... it really shows in his attitude while he performs. Some of the older tunes he could probably play in the pitch dark, while jumping up and down on a pogo stick, yet he still keeps the internal flame burning! I love you Joe! Keep impressing me like you have been for 13 years! Rick B.

Just got back from the show in Philly and I must say that it was the best I have seen yet. I've seen Satch play two other times - once with G-3 and the other on the Crystal Planet tour at the tower in Upper Darby near Philly. those were great shows, but Joe was very intense and focused for this show. he also interacted very well with the crowd. it'll be tough to top this show. I do wish he would have played "Attack" and "Engines of Creation" off of the new album. Otherwise, he covered every song I could think of him playing.

Webcast, baby ... I couldn't be happier with this bonus viewing!! I'm watching it right now! I'll probably watch it hundreds of more times if it's available! The sound is really clear - I was expecting much worse. A big thank you to whoever is in charge of that! The major difference from being there is that I can't feel my pants shaking from the thump of the bass drum! (and I liked that a lot) Will add further comments with future viewings ... : ) THANK YOU JOE! STU! ERIC! JEFF! and Joe again!
