One of my favorite concerts ever. I've seen alot. The sound was great. Joe's playing was flawless and I like the added rhythm guitar. Alot of positive energy through out the whole performance. All this and a good song selection makes for a great show.

P.S. I sat up top and I'm sure that I saw somebody recording the show with a camcorder down below. If anyone knows anything about a tape please share info on how to get a copy.

The music speaks for itself. although, 1 gripe I have is with the start time. Any concert I have been to in my 32 years, including the 3 satriani shows. I have never seen a headliner or single main act start ten minutes into the "said Start time" I had the misfortune of eating dinner at a diner 1 block west of hammerstein with my 2 good friends, thinking, "well, gee, he never comes on for atleast an hour after the gates open. Well, to my amazement, our 1 friend who came down solo, cell phoned us from the mezzanine, yelling "where the @%*! are you guys ?? 08:39 pm He has been playing for 20 minutes. Well, you have never seen 2 ginnies and yugoslav (chick, I might add) wolf down chicken souvlakis in 90 seconds flat. Other than that, my praises to satch and crew. Always memorable.

I have had the pleasure to see and hear Joe play 17 times over the last 10+ years. But certainly the 18th time in NYC was the best for a number of reasons. First of all, I finally decided to take the plunge and get to a show super early so I ended up being closer to the stage than ever before: 2 row (actually, probably more like 1 1/2 since we were kinda pushed up pretty close). What can I say that hasn't already been said? Joe is simply brilliant. He is a terrific showman, a brilliant musician and by all accounts an incredibly nice guy. How lucky we all are to be able to watch and listen to someone who is such a master in his chosen field, a field he clearly loves.

Acoustically Hammerstein was terrific, although being so close to the front didn't help me to experience Joe at the optimum sonic distance. Joe and company did sound awesome. I felt the balance was just right; the Stu and Jeff's bass weren't overpowering, Eric's keys and guitar#2 filled the spaces nicely and of course, Joe's sound up front, perfectly balanced, with just the right combination of bass growl, midrange howl and controlled highs. Kudos to Joe and the sound people!

I thought I picked out Rubina and some other members of Joe's family/friends. They were in the lower balcony on stage left; I noticed Joe looking up there a few times and caught them all smiling with pride and joy. It felt like a strangely intimate moment amidst 3000 Satch fans.

The set list was killer although I would have gladly listened to Joe play nothing but "Mary Had a Little Lamb" a thousand times over.

All in all, one of the most memorable Satch shows ever!

HEY RON33! I waited outside at the stage entrance like you said! Actually hung out until 1am. Was disappointed to not get backstage and finally meet Joe and the gang, but it was nice to meet you anyway...Thanks for trying!

TO JR: I am sorry we didn't get to chat more before the show. I would have loved to chat with you a bit and the rest of the un-listers...(Hint: I am the Asian guy who approached your group right before we went inside. I asked you "Is that THE SHIRT?" and you responded with "You know of THE SHIRT?")

Let's all hope that Joe's inspiration and desire never fades away (and that the record labels continue to have the good sense to allow Joe the freedom to do what he does so very well)...

Funny Story;

Once the second set was about to begin, two guys crash thier way in front of a middle-aged woman standing to my left. She was there accompanying her son and husband (that's what it looked like at least). Anyway, she was kinda short so the guys with big beer bellies block her view of the stage.

Needless to say, she was pissed.

So 3 songs later, when she had just about enough of it, she pushes her way in front of the two guys, and yells back "F@#$ You, I can do it to you too!!". What were they gonna do, hit/push a woman at a concert?? They just stood there and took it for the rest of the show, fumming at the woman in front of them who was now partially blocking thier view.

Well, at least I thought it was funny. Serves'em right for being inconsiderate jerks.

Oh, P.S. - An amazing performance by Joe & Co. I hope someone recorded Stew's bass solo, because it had to be the best bass solo ever perfomed . Joe shined. He was obviously happy to perform in front of the home crowd (his old home anyway). And we were even happier to see him.

What a rythem section. Jeff's DW kit is so great these days. It made the music so much fuller. I guess you have to have great bass and drums to keep up with Joe. He is unreal, the best. I wish he was playing another show in my area, I would not even think twice about going again. Joe is so good it's almost not human. The Hammerstein show was one of the best Joey Boy shows I ever seen him do. Joe sets the standard for all the rest.

With my back against the "cage" surrounding the Soundboard and slightly to the left of centerstage that's if you're looking at the audience from the stage. That's where I stood, I didn't have anyone around me "tripping on acid" nobody jumping around with their shirts off. The hundreds or so people around me were, drinking, smoking cigarettes (all kinds) and having a great time.

From the moment Joe and the guys took the stage to the final "curtain call" the show was AWESOME..... all I can say is, JOE, THANKS FOR A GREAT SHOW!!!!!!

Of course I could review the entire show song by song like everyone else in the world would do but I'm not gonna do that. Cause it would BE A WASTE OF TIME and IT'S ALREADY BEEN DONE.
