Really great show from my all time favorite guitar player! I live in the Netherlands and had to drive 2 1/2 hours to Gent through lots of rain. I didn't have any tickets at that time due to some Dutch-Belgium banking problems, but luckily for me and not for Joe, the show wasn't sold out. So everything worked out fine and the trip was really worth it! I'm actually happy Joe didn't play a full show in Ahoy in Rotterdam (where I've seen him 3 or 4 times the past few years) because the sound was much better in the Vooruit. I could actually hear all the notes he was playing, just like on Bospop 2 days before. Except when he is playing too fast for my ears to comprehend :-) Joe played his cool songs from most albums for about 2 1/2 hours. I really appreciated Down, Down, Down from the blues album, it is one of my favourites. He should have played L.F.G. after that to make it perfect, but he didn't do that unfortunately. It seemed that he was playing a bit better than on the Bospop festival, Always with me ... e.g. sounded more confident. Stu, Eric and Jeff were great too, Stu's solo is always great to hear, I'll be looking foreward to his Outbound solo CD. And finally, I got a me copy of the Additional Creations bonus CD together with the long sleeve T-Shirt (good for the Dutch climate). Turkey man is a great song!

WOUAAAAAAAAWHHHHHH! What a great Show. I saw Joe at the Vooruit 10 years ago and now, the energy is still there! Thanks Mr. Satriani. This show in Vooruit was even better than the Lille one.Audience was warmer and Joe too!I was lucky caus' I got a backstage pass and I met the Master himself. Thanks again for kindness Mr. Joe! Thanks also to Stu, Jeff and Eric who kindly answered all our questions. What an evening.....!! Joe's the best and he will always be. I have seen him around 12 times and he never disappointed me...what else to ask?

Joe, I've seen you playing something like 5 or 6 times by now and I must say that you still keep growing as a guitar player. I personally liked the fact that the Vooruit is not too big. It added a lot to the atmosphere and the crowd really got into the groove. Thanks for caring about your fans by still including your older stuff into the show (Surfing .., Flying, Mystical potatoe, ...) You must've played these songs a zillion times and still you manage to make them sound as fresh as ever before. I was wondering how you guys would pull off the songs from 'Engines...' but I was pleasantly surprised : It sounded at least as good, if not better, than the cd itself. Nothing sounds as good as a 'real' drummer or bass player right ? Have fun with the rest of the tour and hope to see you back soon !

I hope they get the sound right! That's what I was thinking after the first three songs. Because it was basically too loud ! for this small theater much of the subtility of your guitar playing got lost in the wall of sound. Things got a lot better fast though and WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE RENDERING OF "THE CRUSH OF LOVE"; thanks Joe! More highlights: well, about f*cking everything that followed. Personal highlights: Summer Song, Surfing..., Love thing. 9 for show, 8 for sound.

The concert was absolutely Perfect... and it was my first big concert... well Joe starts off hard... getting the crowd in the mood for a relentless battering of emotions emmanating from his music... a little after the pause, Stu goes crazy on the bass, playing fast stuff, falling into Beethoven's moonlight sonata...then blues...then country... He kept the crowd going wild for 20 minutes or so, until Joe came back, showing us once again what can be done with the guitar... him not actually caring wether something can be done or not...but just doing it anyway...

It was truly a wild experience...and I pitty all those who missed out on it!

sincerely, YAGO

KABOOM!!!! There flies my Blue dream. I just came so close. You give a full show in the whole world, except here in Belgium, what kind of a deal is that? Now they have cancelled ZZ and you don't play at all, that's not fair! Steve was here in March and had a crowded Ancienne Belgique. You'll have the same thing. Just go there. It's not because we're a little country, that there aren't any real fans... I just bought my JS 1000. Who going to sign it now? Please come.... Tricky

Joe, Everybody knows that the sound in Forest National is very bad. I'm a musician. You should come in the same place as Steve Vai. Ask him this is a beter place for you : the name is the Ancienne Belgique but you'll have less people. To be honest I don't think you'll have enough people if you play alone in Forest it's too big because your music is not so commercial. Please try to come there and don't play in Forest.

Bruno

Joe, you've got to come and play a complete show ! The crowd went wild last time you played in Brussels (as always, by the way). You can't do it to us to play only half a show.

Another Belgian scandal ... Joe will be playing a +- 1 hours gig only ... as support act for ZZ Top ... instead of a full set list of 2h30mins !!!

Funk Belgium, and it's amateur organizations ... I'm off to Paris for a full set ... I just can't beleive this ridiculous Belgian amateurism !!!

Small country, small brains ... right here ...

Ciao ... Luke ...
