I just thought Borg Sex live was awesome. I loved the way Joe improvised and the way Stu held down that groove. So very cool.

Yeah I've been listening to Satch since the late 80's and the dude still kicks ass. No one even comes close in doing gigs. Joe, it was so cool meeting you at the Flying in A Blue Dream concert in San Jose, CA!! Keep on rockin' dude!!!

Excellent all-around performance. Joe played for over 2 hours, going through all of his classics from disc 2 of "Time Machine", many of the songs from "Crystal Planet", and of course Cool #9. We even got to hear some songs from "Engines of Creation," and the classic Ice Nine. Small venue in San Francisco allowed for an intimate setting and up-close views of Joe, Jeff, Stu, and Eric. The lighting really added to the overall feeling of each song and the sound was excellent, although quite loud. Overall Joe and everyone else put on a great show and I can't wait for the DVD to come out and the next time Joe comes to the Bay Area!

Loved the show as always. It was just too bad the audience wasn't very active or into the playing. Especially on a night that they're taping for a video release. Regardless, it was still a great show. With luck I'll catch Joe again at the same place tonight. Rock on as always.

I don't know how many time's I've seen Joe. But I've never been disappointed. I got to hear my favorite song "Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing" plus all the other signature JS songs like "Surfing with the Alien", "Summer Song", "Always with you, Always with me", "Satch Boogie" and "Big Bad Moon". Great, great show. As an added bonus I met Sweet Melissa at the concert. I think it's the begining of a beautiful relationship.

Look for me in the pics. I'm the guy in the blue shirt. I'm in at least 2 pics, can't miss me.

Well, that was my first "Satch" concert ever. What a show!! I was the 6'6" tall guy in black, towering over everyone right in the center, six rows back from the stage. I was right next to the hyperactive teenage crackfiends that were smoking up their allowance and bouncing all over the place like a couple of toddlers, pissing everyone off. Thanks for the bass string Stu!! I just wish I would have known there was an after show "Meet the Man". I guess I just have to come for the next one! I was bowled over by the liveliness of the performance, but completely stumped by the apathetic response of the crowd. All I can say is that would not happen here in Utah. I think we could put together a few days worth of playtime and showtime out here for you Joe. All it would take is a "Yes" from you and a few phone calls. And I promise you won't be hounded by any Mormon Missionaries just faithful fans. I hope you take the chance to read this cause you've got a pretty decent following out here. If you make it out in the winter, I'll show you some of the hottest ski slopes in the world, my treat. Do you board or ski? E mail mvut@peoplepc.com

I have been a die hard fan of joes since Flying in a Blue Dream was released and have managed to see joe play live on every tour since then.I was lucky enough to see this tour three times in 2000.I've seen and heard joe give many fine performances but there is no combination of words to discribe the performance he gave us that night.Let it be known!!Joe is truly the best ever!!If this is a sign of things to come he truly deserves all the praise he gets!!!!!!This was the finest show I've ever seen him and the band do!!And im glad it was capured on audio and film!!

I started listening to Joe in 1989 about the time when "Flying in a Blue Dream" came out. "Flying in a Blue Dream" still remains my favorite Joe album and the favorite track he has ever done. I have been trying to see him play live since about that long and was never able to up till now. His live versions of "Flying in a Blue Dream", "Love Thing", "Rasberry Jam Delta V" & "Cool No. 9" were in a few words": FREAKING PHENOMENAL. Left goose bumps and hair standing on end. So much feeling. Stu's Solo was just good as well. Even though the concert was everything I hoped for and more, I would've been a 20 on a scale of 10 if Joe would've also played a few acoustic tunes coz "Tears in the Rain" from "Time Machine" is a great song. Keep it Joe. You are the GREATEST.

It was a decent show, though I get the impression that the last show at Warfield in April fit my taste better. I also felt that the setlist and song arrangements were somewhat similar to that of last time. Maybe Joe can work on that. Nevertheless, his guitar sounded like something of heaven!! I just loved it. Oh, and not to mention the quality bass solo by Stu (*STUuuuuuoooooo!*) was impressive. p.s. You guys need to do G3 again soon. I'll go anywhere (long as I can get there) to see the show.

I've seen some amazing Satriani shows, but nothing topped this one. The show included more improv before and after the start of each song than the other ones I've seen combined. I was about 30 feet back, so I didn't really notice any sound troubles they may have had. However, I do remember Stu telling them to turn his bass down. The Fillmore is a great place to see someone too. I was out there on vacation from Philadelphia, where we were "privileged" to see him at the Electric Factory, with it's beautiful concrete floor and walls covered with blankets to keep out the light. The Fillmore was all carpeted except for a new hardwood dance floor. Awesome place to see a concert. The movies that played behind the band occasionally were pretty cool too.

the show ROCKED !!! The sound was a little rough at times, but overall another great performance by Joe and the band. I thought "no way could he top his show at the warfield in april" but of course the band pulled it off. My girlfriend even grabbed one of Joe's guitar picks !! I wish i would have won the aftershow contest and been able to meet the band, but as they say "you cant have your cake and eat it too." Joe is one of the greatest guitar players of ALL TIME !!

What can I say? This show was AWESOME! I was in the third row, dead center (right behind the guys with the cool light spinning sign that everyone probably remembers). Joe played his standard EOC set, with one exception. He dropped Down, Down, Down, Clouds Race Across The Sky, and Train Of Angels. He put House Of Bullets in their place (begining of the second set). Stu seemed to have some problems with his bass early on, I saw him constantly motioning for his tech to turn him up or down. The drums (bass drum especially) seemed a little loud at the begining of the show too. Both of these problems were corrected by the second set, though. The crowd really got into the show towards the end, especially during Joe's call and response bit that he did at the end of Surfing With The Alien. I was blown away when I first saw Joe on 4/12/00 in Sacramento...but this show blew that one away. Joe keeps getting better and better. It was a great night. ...Austin... (PS - I was at the next night's show, too..check out my review on that page if you'd like.)

I thought Joe kicked ass at the Giants/Mets game playing the National Anthem, but now after seeing him "Live" at the Fillmore, I am speechless.(Well that is probably from yelling), my neck is sore too, but it was well worth it. My friend Trish and I stood on the left hand side of the stage. She let out piercing screams throughout the whole show, I thought she was being attacked. In actuallity, she was, by the guitar great, JOE SATRIANI himself. I started to loose my voice by the end of the show, so I could only whistle for applause. I was so happy that you played, "LOVE THING", thank you, thank you, thank you! That song means the World To Me, cause I wrote my own lyrics and dedicated it to Joe Satriani and it is a Tribute to Randy Rhoads, cause I wrote it on Randy's birthday December 6, 2000. Here me read it at: www.poetry.com search for Melissa Stillman and the poem/song is "OUR WORLD'S COLLIDE!", CLICK on "A word from the poet." JOE SATRIANI, YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO ME, my heart has not been the same since your appearance at the Fillmore. (it is beating irregulary) I think I am in love with your music, yep it's confirmed, I am! I need to set some time aside to play my new guitar. I have been neglecting my Black Diamond Dtri-Joe! Keep rockin' and you are the best "Living" guitarist, in my eyes! I love the expression's on your face when you play, your really into it!Oh, I met up with someone off the internet at the show, CHAOS REXX, and he gave me, "Time Machine" for Christmas, thanks Aaron. (I took it to bed with me last night shhhhhhhhh) JOE YOU ARE A GUITAR GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love, sweet melissa

Amazing..genious..For a few years now i have been waiting to see Mr. Satriani live..My friend Colin "the monkey" got me into Satch a few years back..He said even though I really loved Satriani's music when i heard it on the albums..I truely did not appreciate him until I saw him live..my god..I nearly passed out..Joe Satriani has an incredible stage presence and I will never forget when he put on Colin's hat for the encore..Satch truely has a knack for making the crowd go comepletely insane. I love the songs "Until We Say Goodbye" and "Flying in a Blue Dream" they were both great live..But "Crystal Planet" was one of the songs where I went..WOW..your the greatest. Can't wait for the next show..and thanks for the pick.

The man is truly an alien, most likely from a solar system resounding with the heaven-breath guitar sounds of the universe. What a wonderful opportunity for humankind to have had Joe land on Earth and bless us with his rapturing licks screaming through the night sky, or in this case, the Fillmore mystic mood-like atmosphere. On Thursday evening, Joe Satriani (if that is his real name) shook the foundation of the Fillmore Auditorium to it's breaking point, and then some. The audience reveled in the sounds of intergalactic guitar genius and when it was over, there were calls for more. And I can understand why. As the novice neophyte Joe listener I am, I have to say that I am most pleased my son invited me along for the ride. Not only were the sounds as penetrating as those found on Joe's recordings, they were clearly unearthly. My only suggestions are to have Joe's showbill highlight the Fillmore entryway, and to urge all of San Francisco to go see him tonight! -johnnyoz

Truly Amazing! The band played incredible, not much differance in the set list but it was still a great show. I really liked how he almost went in to "memories" durring "The Crush Of Love". For the last few songs he wore my hat!! Thank you Joe, Stu, Jeff, and Eric you have inspired me more than you'll ever know.

Incredible! I've been seeing Joe since he was the lead guitarist for the Greg Kihn Band and saw him last month sit in with the GKB - Joe lit several of Greg's songs, along with an incredible jam on "Crossroads" on fire! As for The Fillmore show, my friends and I had a blast, the asshole factor was very low - I did see the guy with the twirling lights and was real glad not to be standing next to him. The sound and song selection was great (I missed the other shows Joe's done this year) and several of the songs sounded better than they ever did - "Rubina", "Alien", even "Big Bad Moon" (not one of my favorites). Can't wait for the DVD!!

Well my ears are still ringing, I have no voice, and my neck and back are a little tweaked, but I'm the happiest 20 year old alive right now. Joe and the band sounded awesome, I can see why they are using the Fillmore to record for the DVD. Set list was close to the one played at the Warfiled back in April w/ some songs being moved around and just a one or two added (house of bullets being one of them). Overall another incredible preformance, Stu was wowing the crowd during his solo and Eric looked like he was having much more fun than when I saw him at the Warfield. I never would have thought that standing in line for an hour would get me and my buddy such a close spot on the floor directly in front of Joe. We were three people back from the stage, behind the annyoing guy who kept waving his electronic sign at seemingly the worst moments possible. Oh well, I'm not letting that or anything else spoil the absolute coolest show of my life.

Good sound, better than the Warfield show and about on par with the Luther Burbank Center. Only wish the setlist would have varied more from the last shows. Crowd was more laid back (similiar to Luther Burbank outing). Overall, the performance was good, the energy seemed to pick up more in the 2nd half. Looking forward to the DVD. Closing the night w/ Rubina still rulzs.
