Ya know, I've seen Joe at least 10 times in the last 10 years and this show ruled!! STUUUUU!!! was back and it was like having them in my living room! Anyhow, with a 65$ ticket I walked right up front when and where I wanted(sorry to any photographers I blocked) and watch Joe in awe, as usual. The most intimate show ever, thanks Joe.

THIS CONCERT ROCKED!!! Mountain played great but was short.(ill come back to this) Not knowing more than 1 of their songs, i was surprised they played some good rockin' tunes. They played for about a half hour then Joe came out and the intensity went up from there. Joe was jamming and playing his heart out like always and the crowd was really getting into it. My favorite songs had to be "Ghosts" "One Big Rush" and "Andalusia". For the encore, my sister and I were lucky enough to get up right up in front of Joe. I was standing about 2-3 people from the stage while the very nice people in front of us let my sister go right up to the stage and Leslie West handed her a pick which was really cool ( she is 13 ). I was the tall guy in a red satch shirt. Stu's bass solo was unreal. If you didn't like that, you don't like music. The jam session was completely awesome. Joe and Leslie jam real well with each other, i just wish it could of lasted longer!! After the show, my friend and I talked with a crew guy out by the buses that's with Mountain, and he said the casino cut Mountain and Joe's set short. He said that they (Mountain) usually play for 45 minutes and Joe plays for 2 hours to 2 hours and 15 minutes. I was disappointed when i heard this but nevertheless, the concert was still great. My friend and I traveled the casino and ran into Jeff Campitelli. I got his autograph and he said the crowd was great but the venue sucked. I noticed this also especially during "Time Machine". At least from where i was sitting, the sound was very reverby and did not sound good. Great song though. We saw Galen later and he also said the crowd was great and he was more then happy give us an autograph. After that we saw Leslie West. He is a pretty cool guy and funny. He signed my shirt and my sisters pick that he handed to her during the show. I didn't see Joe, but I saw Stu, Corky, and Mountain's bass player (sorry, I dont know his name) in the casino but were unable to talk to them (they were too far away). By far this was the best concert experience I have been to. Ive only been to a couple but I know this one will be really tough to beat!!!

Joe was terrific, and the band sounded great - as always. He launched into I Just Wanna Rock to start the show, and never let up. I can't remember the order of the songs, but from Surfing With The Alien, he played: Ice 9, Satch Boogie, Always With Me and Surfing. From Flying In A Blue Dream he played Flying and One Big Rush; he did Time Machine; Summer Song and then Crowd Chant. He did four off the new record: Ghosts (the best live interpretation of the night), Andalusia, Revelation and I Just Wanna Rock. The Encore with Leslie West was excellent, with Leslie teasing Joe about being "a f---ing showoff" when he ripped off a riff. He also gave him a hard time about being reluctant to sing a stanza of "Down, Down, Down". But it was clear they had a good camaraderie, and the whole show was well worth the 3.5 hour drive from Mt. Shasta. Wish it would have been longer. Joe made a reference to the casino management at the end, saying "this is a casino and they want to make money, so they want to kick us out of here".

But, all that being said, I agree with the previous reviewer about the suck-factor of the venue. The Silver Legacy "concert hall" is a glorified convention/ballroom with a stage in the middle. The chairs are set across the floor, locked together and uncomfortably close. The floor is flat, so it's easy for the sightlines to get obscured. There are two large video screens on either side of the hall so the people on the sides can see. Acoustically, it wasn't bad, but I've heard much better.

Joe, can't wait to see you again; I have 3 requests:

1) Come back to Redding or Medford. Both cities have excellent venues, including a new outdoor amphiteater in Medford. Rock fans are starved up here. Ask Tesla and Frampton how receptive the audiences here are. They loved it.

2) If it's in Reno, pick another venue! The Silver Legacy doesn't deserve your business or ours.

3) Mothball some of the old stuff for awhile. Most of your fans have heard live versions of your old stuff. Bust out some Crystal Planet, Super Colossal, Is There Love..., and Strange Beautiful Music. There's tons of great stuff we've never heard you do live.

Can't wait for the Hagar stuff, and your next solo project, too. You rock, dude. My wife and I had a blast away from the kids for a night...and when momma's happy, daddy's happy....

Joe you ROCK! Best performer to see any time, live. I just wish you could have played longer... What always impresses me is that the guitar flows from you, sounds that are effortless and constantly changing. Your mood is expressed through you music. Thanks for sharing your love with us. don't ever stop the music. Appreciate the tour! Cynatra
