Absolutely Awe Inspiring! My first Joe Show. Other than the guy with the exceptionally large head sitting in front of me, it was great! ha-ha Nice size venue, much better than a stadium show. Really cool friendly crowd. Great prices on Tickets, Posters and Shirts...etc. Sound at the show was great (Props to the sound engineers). Above all other things though.... The performance was flawless. I particularly love the rendition of "Sleep Walk". My wife and I had our wedding D.J. play Joe's version of this at our wedding last Oct. I would really love to see Joe come back to Ann Arbor, Mi. and play at the Michigan Theater again. Till next time....

I went to the show knowing that I would hear some songs that i have never heard before, and that I wouldn't hear the songs that have been played alot throughout the years. I was not disappointed. "Strange" was a very good choice to play live, and I think that it should become a frequent "guest" on his setlists. AWMAWY was incredible!! Who knew you could have turned that song into a 11-12 minute piece!! Matt, Galen and Jeff were awesome as well, though I was hoping for a bass and drum solo. We had a couple of teasers but not a full blown solo.

I finally was able to meet Joe and had him sign a couple of items I brought along with me. It was truly an honor to meet such a great musician. A very humble individual, IMO.

One thing that annoyed me (which some of you have already pointed out) was the crowd was awfully lethargic. I have never been to a show where the crowd sits for the entire show, save for the encore; even then, people tried to sit back down. I kinda laughed when Joe was trying to get us to play along with him. All they did was cheer after his "lick" rather than copy it. I am certain that had the audience copied him, he would have been a little more creative.

Regardless of the crowd, I still enjoyed the concert very much and I am glad that Joe still played as hard as he did for such a sleepy audience.

Thanks again for a wonderful show, Joe!! Come back to Michigan soon!

Joe, yet again you didn't let me down! Great show! I loved the selection of songs and the jams you and the band performed! However, I didn't receive a pick....but it's ok. Just being in the 6th row center was enough for me! This was my 4th time seeing Joe and to all of you who haven’t seen Joe and the band live....well....do it! I still have a “buzzing” in my left ear but hey……I got to see Joe….I’m not complaining! So thanks Joe, Matt, Galen and Jeff for giving me another amazing musical memory!

Wow! What an absolutely INCREDIBLE show it was last night! Joe was ON last night! This was my 2nd time seeing him, the 1st being in 02 with Kings'x and DT. This set was much longer than the 1st. I was completely blown away by his skills and he seems to improve his playing everyday! The acoustics at the State Theatre were phenomenal, I couldn't have asked for more! Altogether I believe there were 6 new songs played including I like the Rain and If I could Fly among others. The pint I really got connected with Joe was during the one whammy pedal part in Searching, also form the new album. That part is jsut so beautiful and makes me shiver everytime I hear it. Sleepwalk and Starry Night were awesome to see, along with Cool #9 and Morrocon Sun, which had an awesome vibe and jam! The encores were amazing... Always With Me, Always With You and Satch Boogie. I saw just so blown away by this show I just had to buy another tee shirt. Satch is the man! Keep on rockin!

In a word "Incredible" Joe is always amazing, but this show he was on a whole new level. I rate this show a "9" for the sound quality of Matt and Galen's amps. They just were not loud enough. But we were there to see Joe right? So Joe please come back to the Michigan Theatre next year, this was a great place to see you play. I look forward to seeing you and the band again, and I am always ready to go to a G3 show. So bring it back to the Detroit area, Please?

Awesome show. 3rd row seats and really good sound made it that much better. It was nice to see Joe finally take some chances with the setlist, and try some other songs out live. Seeing Motorcycle Driver, Up in the Sky, War, Lords of Karma, and HORDES OF LOCUSTS (!) live for the first time were especially cool. The lack of Summer Song made the close of the show seem like it was awkwardly cut, however. Surfing With the Alien also wasn't played, which I've only seen played 1 time out of the 4 times I've seen Satch. Back to Shalla-Bal would be a cool addition on the next tour... not sure if that one has ever been played live.

This was my first Satriani concert and I must say it was the best thing i've ever seen in my life. I knew that Joe was good but to actually see the him playing it live is just beyond anything i could imagine. He played my 2 favourite songs Phsyco Monkey and Motorcycle Driver. I was really impressed with the acoustics and the mix of the show i thought it was pretty well perfect. Not only was Joe amazing but his whole band was. Matt you're an amazing bass player far better then anything i could do, Jeff beats the snot out those drums, Galen I wanna see you do a solo sometime. Thanks Joe and band for an amazing show and I hope to see you again in the near future.

Great show Joe! It was great to hear tunes I've never heard live before. And I enjoyed the unexpected extended twist on 'always with me always with you'. Seems like this tour might be about fewer songs but longer jams which I like, but then I also missed the first hour thinking there was suppose to be some fretless opening band deal, so bad idea for timing on my part. I agree with the other reviewer about the mosoulium sedate vibe of the crowd/theater. This kind of show is better with standing general admission rather than the sit down format. I'd give it a 9 because it seemed like the BASS just didn't have enough volume or Joe had too much. I'd say the bass sounded kind of muted almost and my blakeygirl friend who i brought into the satch world many years ago will also be looking for some bass when we hit the sat. nite show at hob. Overall I agree the total jamming is a notch up from when I last saw him when he did the live in san fran engines tour. I left thinking I should go to a third show! Don't miss this tour!

I just got home from the concert andf it was great! Joe was wonderful, and the band sounded tighter than ever. Galen, have you lost weight since the last time I saw you? You look like a totally different person, and I have to say it agrees with you!

I was a bit frustrated by the crowd, who sat down for 95% of the show. But this is to be expected for a crowd of people in Ann Arbor, who pack the local stadium to see UM play, but its like a mausoleum in there, because its so quiet and most OF the people sit on their hands. I just hope that this doesn't influence Joe to not come back to the Michigan Theater, because it was the perfect venue for such a concert.

I also bought the platinum tour package, and it was worth every cent. Joe was nice and very cordial, though I felt tongue-tied. I had several questions to ask him, but we ended up chatting for a couple of minutes about the trials of me being a left-handed guitarist. I felt like a bit of a dork, but Joe did his best to make me feel comfortable, despite his being tired and all.

I look forward to the next tour when it comes around!

Holy Cow! What a show, What a performance, What a night!! I can't begin to tell you how much my wife and I enjoyed your show. The selection of songs was great, some new, some old, some we haven't heard from in awhile, and a few we have never seen you play before. Your performance was perfect, so clean and smooth and it really looks like you guys are having a blast up there. Our night was made even better when my wife and I meet up with my friend and former guitar teacher Paul Kramer and invited us back stage to see you. As always, you are so generous with your time and so pleasent to talk to. Thanks so much Joe for an increditable evening and the chance of meeting you again and also, thank you Paul for the backstage pass.
