Satch, Matt, Galen and Jeff took the stage at 8:30 pm. Before it was over, Joe and the band played about two dozen songs (nearly three hours) including some never before performed live, i.e. HORDES OF LOCUSTS and LORDS OF KARMA to name a few. I never heard STRANGE performed live, but I have to admit it wasn't his best (vocals were muddy). There were seven songs played from the debut IS THERE LOVE IN SPACE?. He played SLEEP WALK to perfection, like many others that night. I was disappointed BORG SEX, MINDSTORM, EIGHT STEPS, TIME MACHINE, RASPBERRY JAM and SUMMER SONG were not on the set list, but all-in-all, a phenomenal performance by the most innovative guitarist I've ever heard and seen in my lifetime. Joe, you are the best!! Maybe you can persuade Eddie Van Halen to join you and Steve Vai for a future G3 tour. See y'all in 2005!!

This was my only time to see Joe perform live...Joe was energetic and he truly seemed to be enjoying performing...it didn't seem like it was "just another night after night after night on tour" to him...as always, his guitar dexterity was amazing and it was awesome to witness it in person...I was impressed with how long his band came back and played (3 songs I think?) for the encore after cramming in as many tunes together as they already had managed to play...I found it interesting Joe tended to stay on his side of the stage (which fortunately was the side where I was sitting) in front of his amplifiers..in other words, he wasn't trying to be center-stage all the time...however, the folks that sat on the rhythm/bass guitar side might be disappointed...I prefer the smaller venues with seating for concerts, versus the giant auditoriums, so this was great for me...it was an "older" crowd, which is the category I certainly fall into...My only disappointment was that the volume was too loud for my taste, but that's just me...the auditorium was freezing, which made it uncomfortable, but this sure wasn't the band's fault...Overall, thanks to the band for coming to play where I am and I'd sure like to see them at every opportunity!

Just a quick note-I saw both the Clearwater & Jacksonville shows.Out of all of Joe's shows I have seen, these two were the best ever. The setlist was great, and Joe's and the band's playing was amazing.I especially want to say thank you(!!!) for the after show passes.Joe was very cool, and signed my whole friggin' CD collection. He is a class act-after meeting with everyone with passes after the shows,he hung out with the people outside also. 10 out of 10 for both shows-I gotta get some sleep now...
