This was my first Joe Satriani concert and I couldn't have been more pleased with the show he put on. While some musicians are known to sound better on thier albums than in person, I feel that Joe sounds almost as good, if not better than on his studio work. Also, during his time on stage, he made the audience feel that they were just as important to the show as he was. My favorite moment was when he played "If I Could Fly", one of the tracks of his new album. Joe, I wanted to thank you for putting on such a great show, and I hope to attend another one of your performancs in the future

Joe was in RARE form at this show. I know it's hard to believe, but I felt Joe played noticebly better here than any show I've seen (Extremist, Joe Satriani, G3 w/Kenny Wayne Sheppard.) The additional riffs of improvisation couldn't have been more perfect. Every harmonic and feedback was completely on pitch, even the level of difficulty seemed to surpass previous years. Could this have anything to do with being amongst the G3 talent? I don't know. I was truly moved and felt fortunate to nab 6th row center seats for a perfect night! Thanks Joe and everyone involved!

PS While I was surprised at no "Summer Song" or "Extremsit" I was happy to see things I hadn't seen played live before. Way to switch it up!

Question: Did you rexamine old set lists and decide to play songs that got left out in the past? The two Extremist songs played this weekend weren't played on the original tour, if I recall correctly.

Great show.. nice sets, the weather was perfect and the crowd was mellow at the outdoor ampitheater. Joe was in great form, although the bass seemed a little heavy out where we were sitting. The mix of songs walked a good road musically and mentally, with a few unexpected songs like Hordes of Locusts, a lot of material from the new album (note: I Like The Rain is tempting fate at an outdoor concert), and coming back for a 3 song encore of his hit standards (gotta play Satch Boogie or it wasn't a show, right?).. overall it was a good show, and a good time.

Fantastic as all reviews are saying. Word of advise, as opening act (one man fretless) is walking off stage after 5 songs, Joe is walking on stage do not leave no intermision. Also STRANGE played first time ever??

The show was just great. Perfect choice to play old and unpopular songs!!! I am waiting to see them playing in Argentina, my home country, in the G3 Show!!!! I am sure is going to be terrific as this one in Pompano Beach.
