Joe Satriani's concert at the New Orleans House of Blues was the first time I'd seen him live, and he surpassed my expectations. I was spellbound for the entire three-hour long show. I'm still -- fifteen days later -- thinking about. It was truly the most awesome concert I'd ever attended. I know I'm preaching to the choir at this website -- if you weren't part of the choir, you wouldn't even be reading this -- but as part of the choir, you understand what I'm feeling and you know I just have to gush about it; it was an event that just has to be shared. I remember at one point watching him, with his band sort of riding along with him, and they were all nodding hypnotically in unison, and there was a feeling of streaming along on this single dark carpet of aural space. His appearance, his sound, the lighting -- it all came together in a way that transfixed me, and I knew I was standing at that moment at THE place to be on the planet earth. This is now THE show to which I will compare all others. It was so perfect, even down to how he looked: He had this whole black and silver monochrome thing going on that really worked for him, creating the image of an alien inviting us into some intergalactic federation of the soul. The whole show was so good, it's almost frustrating to describe, the words too inadequate to convey the total experience. Yet I find myself compelled to try, just so I can have the pleasure of talking about it, of talking about HIM. And one more thing: THE MATERIAL OFF THE NEW ALBUM IS AWESOME LIVE! "Devil's Slide" and "Borg Sex" are monster compositions. After what I saw, my brother and I committed ourselves to never miss any future oppurtunities to catch his show. And I hope that there will be many more of them. Mr. Satriani -- and I'm addressing you personally just in case you or some of your staff drop by to read these things -- you can't imagine what I felt watching you. I tried to relive the experience by logging on to the Seattle webcast, but my technology was too clunky to appreciate it uninterrupted, though I caught enough of it to touch the hem of the experience. It was like being there but in the cheaper seats. I hope the fantastic camera work for the sake of the internet viewers is an indication that you're planning a video release. Also, I think ENGINES OF CREATION deserves a Grammy. Take care of your health, Mr. Satriani. But to be honest, my well-wishing is selfish: Your concert was such an uplifting experience, I want to relive it again and again and again. This is my first visit to the Website and would like to congratulate Joe for once again outdoing himself. This show was phenomenal. It was my second time seeing Joe live and surpassed my expectations. I brought my cousin along with me. Who I introduced to Joe Satriani's music, I bought him "Flying in a Blue Dream" and he has never looked back. He, Like myself at my first concert, was awed. The sound was perfect, as always. I'm sure Joe is as much a perfectionist about this as he is at his performance. Joe you never cease to amaze me. Keep up the good work. See Ya next time you are in New Orleans. Peace......LANCE

What can I say that has not already been said? This was my second time to see Satch live, but the first time for my wife. We were one of the two internet fan club winners to receive aftershow passes. Joe and the band were extremely nice. They allowed us to take pictures and they all signed autographs for us. My wife was in awe about the whole situation. As for the show itself my wife was on cloud 9 when he hit the first note of "The Crush Of Love". As for me, I was just blown away by "Raspberry Jam Delta-V". We both were blown away by Stu's solo after "Love Thing", especially with the Charlie Brown theme song being added in. At the end, it was nice to hear the "Turkey Man" intro leading in & out of "Rubina".

Anyone that reads this review that has a chance to see a show on this tour,I have these words of advice: DO IT! Trust me, my tickets were $37.00 a piece and they were worth every penny. Also join the online fanclub. You cannot win aftershow passes if you do not join, plus there are many other benefits.

Good wishes to all

From the moment of the first note of "Time" to the last note of "Rubina" my boyfreind and I were utterly entranced. Mr Satriani started the show with Larry's favorite song followed by "Devils Slide" which is my favorite melody from EOC. It was almost as if Joe knew we were there and was playing just for us. The only thing that would have added more pleasure for us ,would have been if the volume were louder. This show was well worth our 800 mile trip. Please come to Indianapolis so we can see you again. Tell Mike thanks for the guitar picks!!!!

This was my 1st time to see Joe live. VERY different from watching any video. In person his hands really float across the neck of the guitar with such a heavenly touch. I almost passed out after seeing the intro to R-Jam V. I traveled over 500 miles to see Joe, Broke Down on the way, but still made it $200 dollars later. You can't put a price on Joe's CREATION.... Anytime u guyz get the chance...Go broke and see Joe play live...

May 10, @ the house of blues was a performance of, well i think it's best been said before....Not of this earth. I can't even begin to put into words the emotion i felt down to my soul that i know without a doubt Joe felt also of the spirit of the evening. Joe, not since Hendrix whom i've never seen live have i ever experienced such satisfaction at a gig or thru any other recorded medium, such a deep reverence for a performer as yourself. You take the fretboard where no man has ever or will ever be.And also i would like to thank you for the insperation you've brought into my life through your dedication to your work as a musician, composer, spiritualist, and most importantly the understanding and love you offer you're family at home as well as the family of people you have associated yourself with and work with to produce the emotions you offer your listeners. My only wish in life, and only because YOU are joe satriani and i can't be,would be to live the kind of life both spiritually and musically that you are. The world can't have two guitarslinging sathchmen like i would graciously accept if the offer were given, but your words of dedication could change the world if it would follow your understanding of truth to yourself and your fellow man.All i'm saying is thanks for not only being you but for sharing yourself with us as openly as you do.Only one other thing...please include Room full of Bullets in all your setlists... Live long and prosper, Paul(paying cash fa yo works)V.

Joe was great (as usual). This was my third time seeing him and he did not disappoint. With the addition of a back-up guitarist/keyboardist, Joe was able to really let loose (even more so). Those who have seen Joe before know that he plays not the same thing every time, but hits every squeal, bend, vibrato and whammy where it needs it. He didn't dwell too heavily on the new album and when he did, it wasn't overly technified. He played many of the standards you would expect, but threw in a lot of different licks effectively "spicing them up." All in all, a stupendous show that was well worth my 300+ mile drive.

Hey Joe, Great show in New Orleans. I was the guy with the two eyes on his hat in front of Stu! Awesome sets and great solos. You mentioned where to download Stu's MP3s but it was too hard to hear up front. I'm looking forward to his CD too.. thanks for giving him the time to jam.

Great limited edition CD (additional creations). It was a great touch!
