Satch and Steve were great! I didn't care much for the cover songs at the end. Yngwie absolutely blew! Do me a favor Joe and never ever have him play on a g3 tour again! Half the time he was kicking picks out into the audience and at the end all he seemed to do was drink something offstage in the middle of songs. All, and I mean all, of his songs had the same old lick played over and over again. Sorry yngwie fans.

Everyone was amazing. I only have one thing to say, and I hope(although I doubt it) that Joe will read this. First off, Joe is always amazing. Flawless, soulful, and in the pocket night in and night out. However, He ALWAYS PLAYS THE SAME TUNES. He has an amazing catalog of tunes yet he always plays "Flying....", "Satch Boogie", "Always With Me..." etc...... Why the predictability? I think Joes fans want to hear tunes like "The Snake," "Memories," "Echo," "Wtih Jupiter in Mind" etc......... I could go on and on. Suprise us Joe, otherwise you are selling yourself short by not reaching into your amazing catalog of music when you perform live.

Wow, awesome show!! Joe was amazing as usual and so was Yngwie. This was my first time seeing Steve Vai and I am definatly more of a Vai fan after seeing him. I would like to have seen Tony Macalpine come up during the final jam or play a set of his own, he is one of my favorite musicians, but I'll live :) Thanks for an awesome performance Joe, hope to see you again soon.

We made the trip down to Kansas City ( a 4 hour trip) on Tuesday to see the boys jam. We loved it so much we drove 5 1/2 hours to Minneapolis on Saturday to see them again. Both Shows just totally blew me away. You guys have a lot of fans out here in the iowa/nebraska area; please consider a stop in the omaha/sioux city next time you tour! PLEASE! Great show, if you can get out to see once of these shows it is worth every effort to attend. Simply incredible!

This was my third time seeing Satch, and first for Vai and Yngwie. First up was Yngwie. I was very excited to see him, and he came out shredding and didn't stop till he left the stage. He acoustic melody was awesome, and just went to prove that he could play just as well with all the distortion and delay turned off. Then came Vai...I haven't heard many Vai songs but I really enjoyed his set. I could of watched his band play forever. I like how he played different styles and how he talked to the audience. He really rocked and looked like he was having a blast doing so. Then Satch....I flelt Satch had the most presence out of all three, and once again put on a flawless show. The stage was lit up, the crowd was fired up and he really rocked! When all three came out I wasn't expecting two Hendrix songs, which was a pleasent suprize because I am a big fan of 'Little Wing'. 'Keep on Rockin in the Free World' was awesome! Satch and Matt did a nice job on vocals. Yngwie was in his own little world at the end, but reguardless, it's not everyday you get to see the G3. Great job Joe, and I look foward seeing you in the future..... P.S. Come back to Minnestoa!!!!!

Joe was in top form!! Man did he fire up starry night and crystal planet was a real treat! Steve was out of this world, his music is very heavy! Yngwie played his ass off. A very gifted musician! Meeting Joe, Steve and Yngwie after the show was very cool, an evening I'll never forget. Thanks Joe

This is the third time I've seen Satch play. I brought my 11 year old son with me this time and he LOVED it!!! It was great to see all of them! But I have to say, there wasnt' enough Satch. I could have listened to just him for 4 hours. Ahhh well....It was a great show and I can't wait till the next one rolls around. I'll be taking my son again!

Just writing to say that this show was my first time seeing any of these three artists, and they didn't dissapoint. First up was Yngwie, whose fretboard wizardry overshadowed his outdated style and look. I do have to admit, when he played on the acoustic guitar, it showed how otherworldly talented he is, as the sound was not muddled like his overdistorted electric sound. Next up was Steve, and his set was unbelievable. Two songs I hadn't heard before, but the band's cohesiveness was unreal, as well as the quality of their overall sound (best of the three; which I somewhat expected beforehand). Steve's emotions and passion for playing really do show through his guitar, and Whispering A Prayer and For The Love Of God had me awestruck by the quality of Steve's tones and feel for the instrument. Long, long standing ovation at the end of the set (which was too short), and one that was well deserved. Lastly, Satch himself came out, and masterfully ran through an expected set list of favorites. The band's sound was great, Flying In A Blue Dream is always something I love to hear, seeing it live was unreal. Midnight had the audience amazed, and the whole set was just great, although not a whole lot of personality shown by Joe; as expected, he let the guitar do his talking for him. Finally, was the jam with all three, and this was good as well. A little bit too much going on with all three of them doing their respective solos, it was harder to distinguish exact notes and lines. Yngwie seemed out of place, with his showmanship not really matching the other two's play-first style, but overall, just seeing all three of them play together was definitely worth it. This show is a must-see for any guitar fan, I know I definitely left amazed at what these three can do on a guitar.

OK, Where to start. Yngwie was incredible and absolutely amazing. Steve Vai, what can i say I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after a flawless life afirming performance. Joe as usual a master, and always tone perfect. We drove 8 hours from WPG. MB. Canada, and I will drive it again next year with out a doubt. I have always been a huge Joe fan, but now I must say Steve Vai has changed my mind about what can be done with a guitar. The Vai performance was like nothing I had ever seen before. Soul, feeling, experimentation, and relentless musical perfection on seven strings. The three neck (12 string, i think) (gem7)(Fretless) was unreal. You are the master Steve, I can not wait to see you again next year. Also a huge hats off to the people of Minneapolis, the fans were right into the show, every one seated around us, young and older, were 100% true supportive fans. This is the best show I have ever seen. Guitar has been perfected in a venue second to none.

Excellent Performances, Excellent sound, Beautiful Venue. The show was worth every penny and the 10 hour drive down from Canada. Meeting Joe after the concert (outside in the freezing cold) was a dream come true for me and for a lot of other people that were out there. We really appreciate you meeting and talking with us Joe... we will never forget it. Thanks for signing my pickguard too! You really are as nice of a guy as you are an incredible musician. And that says a lot. All the best.

Overall, it was a great show, and definitely something I'm planning on attending next year. Yngwie started out the show, and while his performance was very good (Red House was an unexpected treat), he really didn't capture my attention as much as the other two (It seemed the majority of the people felt that way as well). Vai's set was just unbelievable. I thought it was pretty cool how he just walked out, sat down, and started playing on his triple neck. He didn't need a flashy intro or anything, he just sat down and wowed you with his ability. He put in a perfect mix of great stage presence and unbelievable playing. Joe came out last, and put on an excellent performance as well. He's definitely not the showman like Yngwie or Vai, but he makes up for it with flat-out great songs. I dunno if "Starry Night" was the best choice from SBM, but it's still a great song. I was VERY disappointed by a lack of hearing "Secret Prayer", but that's mainly just my personal preference. Then came the jam, with the second and third Hendrix songs of the night, and "Rockin' in the Free World", which was very well done. Still, the Hendrix pieces were probably the highlights of the show. Yngwie played an excellent version of "Voodoo Child", though I think he messed up the lyrics on both of the Hendrix songs he played (Not a big deal). Then they played one song I was secretly hoping to hear, as it's one of my all-time favorite songs: Little Wing. I know I'm biased because I love the song, but wow. It made your jaw drop to the ground.

Overall, it was just an awesome sight to see. I can't wait until the next tour.

The best guitar show I have ever seen and one I will never forget. Yngwie without a doubt, in my opinion, dominated the show. Not only is he my favorite guitarist, he showed everyone he is the most versatile by playing different styles as always (classical, metal, blues, etc.). He does it all time and time again. Joe and Steve, you guys had equal, world-class performances. It's the three of you that inspire and give guitarists a reason to play. To all of you that gave this show a review less than a 10, you really have no sense of great guitar talent and need to wake up as it just doesn't get any better than this. I hope this G3 line-up continues for another tour and many more. It would even be cool to have a G4 tour with the addition of Eric Johnson.
