Without a doubt, the best show/concert I've ever been to. I was about 6 ft. from stage and I haven't felt as good as I did that night in a long, long time. He started the show off with a huge bang of Flying in a Blue Dream (one of my fav's) and the show just got better and better. Jeff and Matt's solo's were amazing as well. Can't wait to see them the next time they're in town. If you've never been to a Joe Satriani show/concert, make an effort to see them!

this was a very good show...very good, but not great. i did not really care that much for this particular set-list. started w/ Flying in a Blue Dream (which was very good) but then there were too many mediocre tunes. Summer Song, Surfing w/ the Alien, Crushing Day, & Always with you Always w/Me were the best songs of the evening. Considering Joe HAD a rhythm guitar player i really wished he would have played Motorcycle Driver & Speed of Life...and i also think that because the show was in San Francisco, he should've ended with the song 'Home'...i know Joe has a bunch of good tunes, but the very BEST ones should be played live. there's always next year!

Thanks a lot, Joe, Matt, Galen and Jeff. It was wonderful to be able to experience such dynamic, masterful and magical music. For some reason I can't quite put my finger on, the music tasted a bit Middle Eastern tonight. I'm not sure if it was the tempo or the timbre, but there seemed to be an Arabic vibe permeating the sound. My personal highlight was "Why", and I also liked the design on the guitar Joe used for that number - which, if I am not mistaken, is a computer-generated marble texture using the Perlin noise function. The outro of "Crush of Love" also stood out. The only minor complaint I had was that the bass and drums seemed to be turned up too high coming out of the bass/drum solos, so Joe was washed out a bit on "Raspberry Jam", especially in the beginning. I would also have loved to hear a few more songs from Crystal Planet - the title track, Up in the Sky, House Full of Bullets, Love Thing, etc. Hope to see you again soon. My recall of the set list:

Chrome Boy (standard tuning): Flying in a Blue Dream / Crushing Day / Devil's Slide; White guitar (Nashville?): Cool #9 / Satch Boogie / The Crush of Love; Natural woodgrain 7-string: Mind Storm / Seven String; Chrome: The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing; Double-necked natural wood: New Last Jam; Chrome: Summer Song; White: Midnight / Starry Night; Snake: Time / Oriental Melody; Paisley Perlin Marble: Why; 5-string bass solo / drum solo / bass & drums; Chrome: Always With Me, Always With You / Raspberry Jam delta-v / Surfing with the Alien; Encore (snake): Friends
