WHOOAA! Ahh, much better now having that being said! :) First thing's first, Joe absolutely rocks! Yeah, that's a surprise for you all people, huh? I have been a Joe fan for approximately 3 years and I must say, being a guitarist in a band myself, Joe is an inspiration to me without end. This happened to be my first Satch gig and I must say, holy sh*t! I mean Joe was really on top of his game throughout his whole set which I believe he was jammin' out for about 70-some mintues. Those seventy mintues were just spent in awe by every single person there! After King's X rig was taken down, Joe's band sets up and finally, the lights go down and this wonderful feedback screams out of Joe's Marshall cabs and you see him, the guitar god, creeping out of the shadows from side stage and... BAM, Flying in a Blue Dream, one of my all-time favorite songs kicks into play! Ahh, yes! I am in heaven, awestruck completely throughout his set. :) Joe, flawlessly played his new stuff: "Seven String," "Mind Storm," "The Journey" and a few others if I recall correctly. Joe, with ease, like the virtuoso he is absolutely jammed out classics like: "Cool No. 9," "Satch Boogie," "Always with me, always with you," "The Crush of Love," "Raspberry Jam" and many more! Joe's band was amazingly tight and and they all looked like they were having an absolute blast! King's X were before Joe and as for them, they were pretty kick *ss themselves, first time I heard a lot of their stuff seeing that I am not really into them that much, however I wish they would've jammed out "Over My Head" that's just a great song. Now I guess for the main act which was Dream Theater, these guys were nothing less than amazing! Although I am not in to them as much as everyone else were there (mainly cause of their vocalist, no offense hardcore Theater fans), they did know understand every element of how to jam and I have been a long time fan of John Petrucci! John = F-A-S-T as if no one knew already, haha! John was an amazing performer throughout Theater's set and I was in total amazement when the keyboardist and John were dueling out solos during the encore! F*ckin' shit! Theater is just amazing! Was hoping to see Joe perhaps walking around afterwards possibly to get an autograph but no hope :( However, Joe's rhythm guitarist and bassist, Matt were right beside me were I was sitting watching some of Theater's set which was really cool. Nice to see the support of each other! Also that came out beside me was King's X drummer with his wife or girlfriend? He was totally drunk waving his cup of beer around having just a blast! Rock on dude! Well until next time, I guess the only thing for us Satch fans to do is keep a look out for him to come back around, I cannot wait!!!

Good Day Joe, Last night, in Pittsburg, I celebrated my ninth journey to spend an evening with you. My first trip was at the Austin Opera House while I was living in San Antonio. Some fifteen years have passed, give or take, since then and it's still cool to get that feel of excitement as the date of your show approaches. Like a little kid waiting for Christmas morn. Your stage presence never ceases to amaze mind, heart and soul. Try as I might I am continually dumbfounded on your abilities to bring forth an event that leaves a lasting aural contentment. I truly appreciated your effort to deliver as many of your songs, to us, in such a small window of time! Thanks!! I am looking forward to sharing, later this year, my tenth trip to see , 'An Evening with Joe Satriani'. 'Strange Beautiful Music' highlights sounded superb!! My very best wishes to you and your family. Keep on Rockin' Joey Satch Louie

As a fan since 1987, I have not missed a Satch show in Pittsburgh. And as he has every time, Satch delivered. No matter how many times I see him live, I always thoroughly enjoy the show and leave in awe of his talents. One observation that I had was it seemed to me that Joe really wanted to flex his muscles more on this tour than he has over the last few years. While he always mixes melodic and "feeling" guitar sections with amazing "shredding", it seemed that he was really going over the top with extended outros and a set list that included more extended jams. I really enjoyed songs like Crushing Day and Midnight that I don't believe he has played much over the past few tours. As always, Jeff continues to impress behind the kit, but my one slight disappointment was that there was no STU. Not only do I enjoy Stu's playing, but I really think that he compliments Joe during the live shows. I'm not saying that Matt did not perform well, I just think that something is missing when Stu isn't there. Thanks Joe and Hope to see you again soon.

Regarding the other bands, I am a long time King's X fan, and I was excited about seeing them again. However, I feel that the mix was awful, which did not allow the unfamiliar to experience the vocal harmonies, growling bass and scorching guitar. If you were not impressed with them, I suggest you give them a second chance. They really are a great band. I am not that familiar with Dream Theater. My initial thoughts are that each member of the band is a master of his instrument. However, at times I think that their music has just too much going on at the same time. Plus, I was not that impressed with the singer. After seeing them, I am willing to become more familiar with there work, but I don't think they will become a favorite.

Mr. Satriani You Are a GOD! That was an awesome show. I hope you come around again soon. Hopefully this time we will get to see you perform longer as well. But Thank You for the GREAT entertainment! The only way the night could have gotten better is if I could have scored a aftershow pass. Thanks for the pick and sharing your talent with us all! Take care and hope to see you around again soon.

The great news first! After the gig, I got to meet Joe, Matt, Jeff, and Galen at the Pittsburgh Marriott while they were checking out. They were heading to NJ at about 12:00 am. What great guys. I got my picture taken with Joe and Jeff said they will be coming back east in the fall, perhaps in November. However, they will not play Pittsburgh, just the big markets like Chicago and DC................. Now, onto the gig. King's X was okay. Nothing great. Nothing bad. The mix for King's X was bad. The kick drum seemed to overshadow everything else..................... Now, onto Joe. Joe played for about 77 minutes. He opened with Flying in a Blue Dream. I taped the show and have listened to it twice so far and he played a little different version of Blue Dream. Joe was nearly flaw and all the guys seemed to have a great time. I've been a Satch fan for about 16 years and this was one of the best shows I've ever seen. The only downside was a short set and no encore. However, Joe's version of Friends lasted about 8 minutes so that was his encore........................ Now, onto Dream Theater. These guys are an enigma. Individually they are very talented, but collectively they just seem to be four guys playing instruments without much cohesion. My wife thought the singer seemed like a parody of some 80s hair metal band. In any event, I've never seen Dream Theater before and, while I wasn't that impressed with their set, I think they did a fine job. Shockingly, most of the people at the show were there to see DT. On the whole, I think the show was great and I'm glad the promoters joined Joe and DT. But I look forward to seeing Joe within the next few months when he plays a 2.5 hour set.

Went to the show last night, and was a little disappointed that there was not more material from the new album in the setlist. While I love Joe's music, it does get tiresome to hear the same songs, played the same exact way, all of the time. If I wanted that, I'd just pop the CD in...I do realize that the melodies should be played the same way, but the solos could use some sponteniety.

This is not to say that Joe's performance last night was bad -- it was good, though the mix could have been a little better. Kings X was not too good in my opinion. All of their songs sounded the same to me... I didn't even stick around for Dream Theater.

Overall, I thought the show was great. I wasn't crazy about King's X, though. Not quite my style. I just wanted JOE!! It was my first time seeing him. He was so clean and flawless. To see him live was an awesome experience. We would like to see just Joe sometime, because we were so spoiled when he was done!! Even though I was anxious to see Dream Theater, I wished he could've played longer. It was good to hear Crushing Day!! I was happy with the setlist. Especially the songs from Surfin'. Very impressive performance. On to Dream Theater..WOW! Truly talented musicians. We had second row, so Petrucci was right in front of us for most of the show. He was so good....the drummer was out of this world. They are a very tight band. I would gladly see them again.

Drove four hours to get there but it was well worth it. Wasn't sure how good our tickets were but when we sat down we were only 8 rows away from the stage! Back to the show, King's X was really good, first time seeing them. Satriani played awesome. I only wish he could have played longer (for obvious reasons). His set list was something like: Flying, Crushing day, devils slide, ice 9, mind storm, 7 string, midnight, Starry Night, Crush of love, Delta-V, Satch boogie, always with you, Potato Head, Summer Song, and Friends. It was really cool seeing him play(my first time). The friend that actually introduced me to satch got one of his picks(Awesome!!!). Dream Theater I felt had a weak opening. After pull me under, for a couple of songs, they didn't sound at their level. Once they did Misunderstood, however, the rest of the show on after was totally astounding. They played Take the Time as their encore and had a killer Keyboard/Guitar duel(which kicked total ass!). Overall it was one hell of a show. Good luck KX, JS, and DT. Hope to see you all again!!!
