Sorry for posting this so late, but I'm still blown away by this show, even a year later! I'll be attending the G3'03 tour in WPB and Orlando, FL. The show started out incredibly although I missed King's X. Dream Theater rocked the house, and then when Joe came on I realized that he'd basically be standing near me for the whole concert. I couldn't get the smile off my face the entire time Joe was on stage. I just kept staring at those fingers, going as fast as lightning or as slow and melodic as a "Blue Dream," depending on the song. Never in my life have I seen such a show that excited me and made me want to just go home and play a CD until it was worn out and I had to go buy a new one to wear out the next day! Thanks to Joe and to the band and Dream Theater for showing me what a real show is all about! See you in about 2 months, Joe! Alan Schwartzseid

This gig was the best i've ever seen in my damn life! INCREDIBLE! Every song I ever wanted to hear was in there! I missed Surfin' which is the only reason I gave it a 9. If he had played it then it would have got 11! Although getting to actually meet the guitar god himself in Georges Music before the show and get my strap signed made up for it. Dream Theatre were really excellent too while Kings X were a bit mediocre to me. Hey Joe... GR8 SHOW!!!

This was my first ever Joe Satriani concert. I imagine that any Satch fan would rate their first concert a 10. It is such an awesome sight to see him play. You can’t really appreciate his talent until you see his fingers FLY across the guitar. For that alone I gave it a 10. I was a bit concerned with the sound having read reviews from previous shows. The sound on Joe’s set at HOB was fantastic. It was clean throughout the show. Joe was flawless in his execution. The crowd was great and Joe did a great job of playing to the whole audience. He commented about having a sore throat which didn’t seem to affect his playing.__________

I did not get to see King’s X so I can’t comment. I did see Dream Theater. Not being real familiar with them made it kind of tough. The sound guys had the bass cranked, which sucked because what I heard of John Petrucci was fantastic. The guy can play. Unfortunately a lot of his work was drowned out. The rest of the band was pretty tight. I could do without the 80’s hair band style vocals of James LaBrie though. I had too much of his type in the 80’s. In his case the heavy bass was a good thing. I’d give Dream Theater a 7. Could have been a 9 with better sound and vocals.__________

So to Joe and the Band I say THANK YOU for a great show!!!!!!!!!!! It won’t be my last.

First of all, the evening began with a top-secret signing at a VERY small guitar store right in Pleasure Island. What luck!! Fantastic guy ... very humble and kind. After getting a couple of pictures with Joe and a few autographs, me and my buddies went to HOB .. waited in line for about an hour and a half and then were allowed entry. I have to say, if you're complaining about not being able to see, get there earlier!! We were about 4 rows back (well, the equivalent of 4 rows) dead center .. (even though Joe plays more offset, it was still AMAZING to see!! He was SOOOOOO close!!) ... and was he in fine form ... oh yeah .. he didn't miss a beat ... played beautifully as always. I was completely blown back when he sat up there and played Midnight ... just amazing. I'd have to agree with a few of the others ... I missed some of my favorites like Surfin' .. but the show was really fantastic regardless .... then add on Dream Theatre (even though I'm not a huge fan of their music .. I am of John Petruccis, though) and Kings-X (man .. that was some POWErFUL BASS!!) ... that was a phenomenal evening ... filled with tons of mindblowing music and good times ... That was a day I won't ever forget.

Excellent show! Being a long time Satch fan, (and have only seen the show once before) it was well worth waiting for their return to Orlando. The venue absolutely SUCKED! Very limited seating, the floor was packed and the balcony upstairs was lined 4 or 5 people deep straining to see the stage. Satch more than made up for the horrible venue with a fantastic performance!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my first Satriani concert (my first concert that I've been to period...) and it was incredible. He absolutely brought the house down playing an unforgettable set. He was also magnificent on the 7 string. Oh yeah, some other band by the name of Dream Theater played too....

INCREDIBLE SHOW!!!!!! I WILL SEE EVERY SATRIANI SHOW AT THIS VENUE AND I SUGGEST YOU DO TOO!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!

We flew to Orlando in search of groove. Gotta have GROOVE!!! That groove thing is like walking down the street and getting lured into a dark alley by some shady character. If the band got groove you get turned-on to something strange & beautiful. If it don't you get mugged. Kings X had a good groove. Dream Theater is obviously working reeeel hard on that mystical groove thing and I wish them all the luck in the world - took a hit but I got out with my wallet intact. Joe, on the other hand, placed the bar for groove as high as it would go and then tightrope-walked back and forth across it - strange & beautiful for real!!! Like that little Silver Surfer standing on the Marshall cabs - thanks for coming out and braving the waves to connect with us fans, Joe! Now that the new lineup is in tip top shape we expect to see you guys back here in SEATTLE (on your own) this Fall!!

The House of Blues really made me Blue. The set list was great, Dream Theater and Joe played great, BUT the sound man needs a day job!!! Joe, please go back to the Bob Carr Theater the next time you come to the Big-O!!

This was my first time in a Satch concert and my first time in a DT show. They were all perfect, if there's no better word than "perfect". I think it was worth travelling all the way from Guatemala, Central America to see the show. Wow, how would Satch play whenever he's not a sore throat! He was perfect! I always thought that Matt was the mediocre bass player. I had to shut up after seeing him. Jeff's got the talent and the crowd, but Galen Henson still has to work a little bit. Of course, Dream Theater was perfect too! I think I left the little lady in front of me deaf with all my screaming! Didn't get to see but 2 songs from King's X, so I cannot comment on that. Long live Joe Satriani! And long live Progressive Rock!

This was my first time seeing Satchmo live and it was so worth the wait. Ecellent pacing, sound was incredible and I got to meet Joe at an autograph signing at Guitar Gallery. A truly grand experience.

How do you take a pretty good show (Jacksonville) and make it fantastic (Orlando)? Add: 1) An on fire Satch and band, 2) A loud and energetic crowd, and 3) a "cover" of Rush from DT at the end of their set just to push the envelope even further.... I arrived mid-way through DTs set so I could enjoy the long night and was lucky enough to probably catch the best part of the show. There were definitely some pumped DT fans, I caught the last part from the floor and was amazed how easily I made it close to the stage before Joe's set. Joe may have been suffering from a sore throat but his playing was spot on and he added extra fills and the occasional improvised jam which made things all the better. Matt and Jeff matched this exceptional playing level also. Highlights for me were Summer Song and 7 String. Still need to see a longer Joe set featuring more from SBM, but this show left me much more satisfied than Jacksonville. Aftershow was great - the guys are all just super and make an effort to speak to everyone there. Jeff C - remember to e-mail me! Thanks for everything guys - please come back through again! Side note: I went to see The Who in Chicago the next night and they were passing out flyers for the upcoming X/DT/Satch show - I made sure everyone that got a flyer around me knew that was not to be missed.

I would have probably enjoyed Kings X and Dream Theater more if I had known more of their songs, This was the fifth time that I have seen Joe and as always he took the show. I wish that he hadn't been stricken with a sore throat cause maybe he would have played longer but none the less he still jammed. I wish HOB had more room cause it was definitely cramped in there. I hope that who ever the LOW-Life Pud is that stole his guitar puts their eye out by a string while trying to tune it. P.S To the kid in front of me in line that said Petrucci was the best guitar player ever, DREAM ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this was my second satriani show, and it was incredible. having dream theatre and kings x their just made it that much better. i saw g3 in the summer of 2001 and this show was just as good as that one, which suprised me. satch was amazing. the coolest part was during freinds, the last song he performed, he saw me and i pointed at him and he then pointed back. it was awesome. i was kind of upset that stuuuuuuuuu wasnt there but the bass player was awesome so it was all good. kings x blew me away doug was awesome, and i had the privelage of meeting him by the buses after the show. he was real down to earth, an awesome guy. dream theatre was also amazing. petrucci's and the keyboardist's dueling guitar medley was incredible.
