this was a kickass show man. I was so pumped but it didn't get a 10 in my book because I'm going to G3 oct. 18 and it is the only thing that can be better than seeing joe by himself.

This is the only show I could attend since 1996 at The Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK. A special trip to Hollywood with tickets to Satch at The Greek was a surprise gift from my soon-to-be wife. Being outside on a perfect 'Starry Night' and hearing a great set beginning with 'Flying in a Blue Dream' and ending with an encore of 'Friends', made this one of the best overall shows I ever experienced. Anyone out there remember the whole set list? I recall one surprise was 'Echo' from way back, JS said first time he had played this in many years. The closer, 'Summer Song' was a high-point, as was 'Crushing Day'. Dream Theatre was a lengthy and unfortunate disappointment. Their fans are idiots. Hey Shorty, we saw the shooting star too! AWE-INSPIRING!

OK THIS IS IT,I'VE SEEN JOE SEVEN TIMES NOW AND HE'S ALWAYS PRETTY MUCH PLAYED EVERYTHING NOTE FOR NOTE, WHICH IN ITSELF IS AMAZING.{CK OUT LIVE IN S.F.DVD} BUT TONITE JOE WAS JAMMIN'. LIKE JIMI USED TO DO, YOU WERE NEVER QUITE SURE WHAT OR HOW HENDRIX WAS GONNA PLAY, AND THAT WAS JOE LAST NITE, SPONTANEOUS IMPROVISATION. THE ONLY REAL WAY TO CREATE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC. I HAD THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE, LEANING ON THE STAGE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF JOE'S MIKE. LET ME TELL YOU, THAT IS THE ULTIMATE EXPEIENCE! HE CAME OUT BLAZIN', EXTENDED EVERY SONG, LEFT OUT A FEW NOTES AND ADDED A FEW MORE AND BY THE TIME HE FINISHED WITH FRIENDS, HE HAD TAKEN THE BAND INTO A FEVER PITCH WITH THE FINAL, CLOSING SOLO. THAT WAS ENOUGH,BUT OF COURSE, I WISH HE'D PLAYED ALL NIGHT! HE MADE IT VERY CLEAR. NOBODY CAN HANG WITH JOE SATRIANI !!! HE IS THE GREATEST, THE BEST, WELL THERE JUST AREN'T ENOUGH ADJECTIVES TO DESCRIBE HIM, AWESOME !! OH, AND THERE WERE 2 OTHER BANDS TOO

KINGS X- I thought you guys were great and very fun to see live! I was impressed with how tight the band was and enjoyed many of the tunes I hadn't heard before. DREAM THEATRE- Now that's one killer keyboard player! Petrucci was awesome and I really enjoyed the show. The bassist was very cool, creative and into the show! SATRIANI- The Man! First time I'd ever actually SEEN Satch in concert and I was just amazed! I did hear you say on an interview with THE BONE, that JSW was kind enough to share with me, that you did a 2 1/2 hour show. I didn't exactly take a stopwatch with me, but I honestly believe that show wasn't a minute over 1 1/2 hours - so you could say that was a bit disappointing, considering I drove over 1,200 miles just to see this show. And if it was 2 1/2 hours - it sure didn't feel like it! 'Crushing Day' was fantastic!! Satch would do these like dive-bomb notes that just made that jam come alive! Matt B. Galen H. and Jeff, you guys looked like you were having a blast! Especially Matt B. I swear, you reminded me so much of Tony Iommi! The whole Satch band was killer and I'm glad you guys played Rasberry (not strawberry) Jam, since there was nothing else played from Crystal Planet. THE CROWD- you guys get a big ZERO- because that was the poorest excuse for a concert crowd I've ever seen. I'm not taking anything away from DT, but that was DT's crowd -because after Satch played the first song - the crowd sat down! And never got back up! It was sad! In my opinion, I wouldn't doubt that Satch had a 2 1/2 hour show but because the crowd BLEW so bad - it was probably time to call it a night... after only 1 encore. Come to The Gorge Amphitheatre, Joe! We won't let you down, you won't wanna leave!!

Joe is the best! His concerts are always awesome! His guitar playing unbelievable. I love his music. Midnight and Crushing Day were the highlights for me. The only reason I give it a 7 instead of a 10 was because it was too damn short! Sorry but King's X and Dream Theater took up way too much time. I've seen 10 shows so far and the best shows have always been the ones with no opening acts. I felt kind of cheated so I had to go home and watch the DVD again to fix that. I miss Stu and Eric! Anyway, Joe, thank you for the (strange) beautiful music, you are truly amazing!

Welcome back Joe to the sunny southern Cal. I had a chance to meet Joe at Wherehouse music store for autograph, thank you so much! I was little bit disappointed with the show because Joe had only hour and half to play and some of the Dream theater fans left before and during Joe's play. Their fans were just annoying. I wish Joe can tour by himself. Joe, you amaze me everytime I go to your concert. I solute you!

This is the second time i saw Joe and once again he blew me away. I was getting really pissed off that Dream Theater took so long. I thought that they were only gonna play for 30 minutes but then it turned into an hour. DT was really boring. Finally Joe came out and that turned everything around. Damn he kicked some major ass. Midnight was a cool suprise. Starry Night was perfect for the setting at the Greek Theater. Did anyone else happen to see the shooting star above the left big screen? I did as well as my dad and mom. I was definitely a magical night. Both songs that he played with the seven string was awesome. The encore was great considering it was my dads favorite song. Joe is such a cool guy. It was an awesome experience.

What can be said about the show that has not already been said? Joe really "out did" himself Saturday night !!! This was my 10th time seeing Satch live and it just keeps getting better and better!! I loved the way Joe mixed a little of the old with the new and really loved the awsome sound of that 7 stringer!! Whats next Joe ? Once the intro to "Flying In A Blue Dream" started I knew that we were all in for a great night of guitar "magic". From start to finish, Joe never let up , extending some jams and , as Joe said "getting a little crazy" , on some songs . Played my favorite song " Always With Me, Always With You" ( You just got to love that solo !?!)and way to end the show with the encore "Friends" with a great "extended jam" at the end. You have to love the "touring band" this time : Galen did great on guitar, Matt on bass ( sorry Stu, Nice to see you again Matt!!)and as always Jeff on drums ( AWSOME job !! I only wish that I could even begin to play that well!!!)and as always the amazing guitar "pyrotechnics" of Joe. From the frist time that I saw Joe ( in S.F. !!) I made every effort to see him every time that he has played in California..Joe , don't wait so long to return to L.A. and all of your fans. See you next time PEACE

This was my 7th time seeing Joe in concert and I must admit everything was just right. When Joe took the stage the sound and energy was just right. He never let up form the opening Flying In a Blue Dream to the encore Friend's. The energy he displayed was amazing. Crushing Day was the the highlight for me although the entire show was incredible. Note for note and minute for minute this was probably the best Joe has ever sounded for me. Our family of six attended and everyone was very pleased. See you soon Joe. German.

Last night's show at the Greek Theatre was yet another awesome performance by Joe and his band. They really ripped-it up! Joe even told his captivated audience that HE really felt like playing his guitar, which was evident by the dropped-jaw reactions which I saw from the fans just watching SMOKIN' Joe play. (maybe He really does "talk to the aliens") This would be the 7th time I've seen Joe live and I know for certain that I'll always be back for more!.Jeff Campitelli is always Joe's backbone and Matt Bissonette's bass playing was good but I think Stu Hamm has a little more "thump" to his playing and also has a better stage presence than Matt does.Dream Theatre's set I thought was as long,if not longer than Joe's.Let's not forget who the "headliner"is ok guys?. Dream Theatre is made up from some fine musicians, but after awhile, the music just seemed to drag-on a bit, especially when your anticipating Satriani's show! I think Kings x sounds better on record than live! I hope that Joe will be coming back around the LA area again soon and hey, how about doing a solo show next time around like you did for the fans in Europe! All in all, a" Beautiful, Strange music show! KEEP ON ROCKIN'!

Another great show, Joe! [my 15th] My girlfriend won aftershow passes for this gig. How lucky can I get? And how many ways can I keep saying it was a great show after each concert? Same set as last night, but added "Friends" for the encore and dropped "I Believe". Once again TORE IT UP on Crushing Day! And dropped jaws on "Midnight". Hung out for a long time with Jeff Campitelli's cousing, Kirk, and his son... then Jeff was very cool, laid back, and funny talking with his cousin, nephew and me and my friend, Dave, for a long time. Didn't get to take a pic with Joe for the second night in a row. Geez, what am I doing, lol?! I really appreciate how they give away aftershow passes, and how they still chat, sign autographs, and take pics after a rockin' show... guess I just don't want to impose on them by hounding 'em for pix 'n' such. But if you don't ask, you don't get, either! Maybe next time... looking forward to the possible December shows. Nice lil' tradition.

Joe, you were awesome as always. I was really glad to meet you face to face at the autograph signing. What can I possibly say that hasn't already been said? The only thing that would've topped the night was if you would've played "Sleepwalk". I had always wondered what that tune would sound like if you played it and now I know. A bit bummed out that I didn't win the after show passes but maybe next time will be my turn. Hope you enjoy the CD...

Another phenomenal show. This was my ninth satch concert. What I find unbelievable, and what keeps me buying every new album and coming back year after year when I've basically given up on rock (I listen to classical music almost exclusively now) is Joe's impeccable musicianship (he never misses a note and elicits an adrenaline rush with his abilities on the guitar), his sublime artistry (each time I hear him live I hear something fresh or different in tunes I know intimately), and the fact that he engages me emotionally on a level that no other rocker does. For example, from the new album Joe played 'Starry Night' among other tunes. It's not one of my favorites from the studio album (seems trying too much to be 'Always With You, Always With Me,' which is a masterpiece and coincidentally he also played last night.) However, 'Starry Night' live was fantastic and made me reconsider it -- I now like it on its own merits. The high points of the concert for me were 'Midnight,' 'Rasberry Jam' and the encore ('Friends'). I would have liked to have heard some of the other tunes off of the new album ('Oriental Melody,' 'Mountain Song' and 'What Breaks a Heart'), but, alas, maybe another time. I also missed Stu, but Matt did a great job. My only big complaint was the opening bands. Ditch 'em. I understand the need to give new (old?) bands exposure, but two hours of no Joe at a Joe concert is an arduous endeavor at best. I thought Dream Theater was very talented individually as musicians, but self-indulgent, unmusical, and tedious. As talented as Petrucci is on the guitar, he would do well to learn from Joe -- virtuosity for its own sake is empty and in the end its all about engaging melodies and the music.
